My Weigh Triton T2 550g x 0.1g Digital Pocket (Hand held) Scale, Formula Scale, Jewelry Scale with Hard Cover Case

I purchased this scale to weigh my coins and help detect counterfeits. This scale is very accurate and feels pretty well built. It is very portable and the detachable lid as a tray is very handy, although a tad hard to remove ad replace. To calibrate the scale you need 200g of weight, I personally purchased a roll of nickels which weighs 200g without the roll wrapper. This scale also allows you to offset weight. Roll wrappers usually was .7g so to calibrate I simple place an empty wrapper on the tray before calibration and the scale offsets for .7g then to calibrate I place the roll of nickels on the scale which gives me 200g and then I am all calibrated. To test I put a single nickel on which should read 5g and it does. Now when they tell you that it must be on an even stable surface they mean it. The scale tends to "drift" +/- 1g if in an area that is not level or by air. The scale is very sensitive but that's what I was looking for. Out of the box it was calibrated pretty decently but I wanted to do it myself to not only verify it, but to learn how to do it and get that practice in. This scale works wonderfully for what I am looking to use if for and I do highly recommend it!

Great scale for small items. Takes 2 AAA batteries, when using NiMH batteries, the display shows the low battery icon even though there is plenty of charge left in them - due to the voltage curve of those batteries vs. alkaline. The magnet closure is very weak but no big deal. My biggest issue with it is that it does not sit evenly on it's four "legs" it wobbles back and forth. Gluing 4 dots to the bottom fixed that. The display is also hard to read from direct head on - it's best from a forward angle which makes sense since that's how you use it. Construction is very cheap, the battery door is rough to remove and install, the label has some sort of oil smeared on it typical of cheap manufacturing. I like that the platform is 3-4 mm above the case, that the buttons are very sensitive, and the display readout is pretty responsive. This has a very large capacity (550g) relative to weighing in this resolution (0.1g). Overall it's a great scale at a great price!

I've been using this several times a week for 6 years to weigh coffee as well as anything else small, and it still works fine. I periodically test it with a 200 g weight, and it's still spot-on (I've never had to recalibrate it). The lid can slide off to be used as tray to weigh larger items, but the tiny hinge pins sometimes fall out and could easily be lost. Though I leave the cover attached, sometimes it slides off anyway when opened and the pins come out. I bang them back in so they are tight again (until next time), but this is why it's not rated 5 stars.

Hard to believe you can get something this nice for so little money. The price was so low I was almost sure the scale would be junk, but it works very nicely. The plastic case could be a bit better looking (you can see where they cut the mold flashing, and there are two cheap looking stickers on the bottom) but this is a very tiny quibble. External dimensions are approx. 80 x 150 x 20 mm. Weighing surface is approx. 80 x 60 mm. Five digit display has a red / orange backlight when on, unit auto powers off after 2 minutes. Case is held closed via a small magnet in the lid. Only when fully open will the lid detach for use as a larger measuring tray (and only then if you really want to remove it). Operation is very simple via three rubbery push buttons: tare (zero), units select (g, oz, dwt, ozt), and power (on/off). Units are remembered even when you turn it off. You can calibrate this unit yourself if you have a calibration weight, which is nice. I tried weighing an AA battery in the center, then tried it at all 4 corners of the weighing surface - it read the same everywhere. Display is very stable, no bobbling around, and there is an icon at the lower left that indicates when the scale is zeroed out. The instructions say to set it on a mouse pad for the most stable readings. Instructions on how to use and calibrate the scale are listed inside the lid. I'm 100% satisfied with this amazing product!!

This is a cheap(price wise) but very accurate and light weight scale. I use it quite frequently. I did not even have to calibrate it when it arrived. It was set and ready to go! The lid even separates and becomes a little tray of sorts. It is sensitive so you have to make sure it is on a flat surface and no one is breathing on it. It will weigh your breath. I use it in the desert a lot and dust hasn't even slowed it down yet. Very durable. I put it in my pocket and take it on my hikes to weigh rocks and other random stuff I feel like weighing. It is a very good scale.

They charge $85 at planet k.. Easy to use and when weighing less dence substances u can detatch the cover and use it as a bigger platform. My friend has had his for three years keeps it in his car drops it and it's still accurate. Will last for a long time! It does not have a conscience of good and bad so it weighs everything perfectly. Only thing that would be better is buying a scale with 0.00 more digitts for things that cost alot of money where the difference of .11 and .19 can cost u alot.

12/14/24 Updating this review. This scale is a big disappointment compared to my original. It has been fussy all this time and now it is not really working at all. It keeps blinking and flashing and won't go to zero, the numbers are all over the place. I bought this to replace an old scale that I dropped and quit working properly. I had the old Triton for many years and was very happy with it. This new one, I had to buy a 200 gram weight in order to calibrate it. Now I wonder if the old scale was accurate all these years……

This scale works pretty well. The pad is a bit small and the hinged cover that can be removed to weigh slightly larger items is difficult to remove. Bu, overall, the scale works, although I have found that it does fluctuate a bit more than I would expect. But, it is a good deal for the price.

Produit de bonne qualité, la balance fonctionne bien pour les pesés. En revanche, impossible de procéder au calibrage, elle affiche EEEE ce qui indique une surcharge alors qu'il n'y a rien sur le plateau. Dommage..
