Excellent sling
Well I am no expert on slings, but I suffered a broken shoulder two weeks ago and I have learned a few things since. I was discharged from the ER with a sling. The nurse candidly noted that it was not a very good one and I could buy a better one. So when I got home I started my Amazon research. I read reviews and this one stood out, primarily because it did not dig into the neck. The one I got from the ER was instantly annoying my neck. I was hesitant to buy it because some reviews noted that it was complicated to put on and that you would need assistance, and I am 74 years old. But other reviews included some very helpful videos so I thought I could manage it myself. I was not going to get help from home with this due to my husband’s own health issues. So, first, I got it the very next day. Fantastic! Within about 24 hours of getting home from the ER with the crappy sling I had my new sling. Thanks to the helpful videos, I was able to put it on myself without any big problem. It was instantly more comfortable than the ER sling. It is padded and soothing. The cradle portion for the elbow extends far up the arm and has a warming and swaddling effect. The one from the ER (and a mesh I bought for showering but did not like ) felt like they cut into the back of my upper arm (as well as my neck) This sling has an extra strap that hangs down your back when you put the primary (nicely padded) strap over your shoulder. If you make sure not to get it tangled, you reach back with your good arm and grab it and wrap it around your waist/rib area in front and attach it to the sling with the Velcro tip. It holds your arm against your body which aids with immobilization and also has a swaddling effect. I loosen it for sleep. It has been two weeks now and I’m so glad I got this. My last x ray showed no movement of the fracture so it’s doing its primary job of immobilizing the bone so it can heal. There is a small strap that goes over your arm near the elbow that keeps it cradled and an adjustable wrist strap that raises or lowers your hand to a position where you are comfortable. Pulling down in the back strap before you fasten it also affects how high your wrist sits against your body The Velcro closures on the straps can be a bit of a nuisance and attach to stuff where you don’t want them to attach but it’s pretty easy to get the hang of sticking them to a part of the sling so that they are out if your way til you are ready to fasten them where you want them. All in all I’m so pleased with this sling. I’m enduring my first broken bone and I think this sling has made a difficult situation a bit more livable. Update from newest X Ray on June 3. No movement of the fracture. So the sling is definitely doing its job. Update as of six weeks from injury: My latest X ray showed no movement of the fracture so this sling did its job and I was advised to stop wearing it (and move on to more intensive PT). In retrospect, getting a sling that kept my minimally displaced fractured shoulder stable probably made this about the most important to-wear item I have ever bought. Thanks to Amazon for making this sling available and for providing space for all of the reviews for this and other similar products to help with what turned out to be an important decision that had to be made under the less than ideal shopping conditions of pain, trauma and no opportunities for try on rooms and easy comparisons

Great after surgery!
This sling is lightyears better than the one I was given at the hospital after rotator cuff/ bicep tendodesis surgery! I’m a small/thin woman and by measurement the medium was just right. (I’m 5’3” and 105 lbs pounds.) I maybe could have gotten by with the small but this is fine! It’s easy to get on and so much more comfortable than the junk one I was given! It does not come with an abduction immobilizer but I had mine from the hospital and it works great with it! I ordered a few other $100+ slings and returned them and kept this one! It is a bit hot sleeping in it but still overall great and the price is great!

It's mostly pretty good
Once you have it all connected it's a very effective sling. It feels quite comfortable and secure. However, if you have just hurt yourself I would not recommend the sling as it can be quite frustrating to set up. You need to come up with a scheme every time you take the Velcro off to attach it to itself otherwise it will attach to 1000 things around you. It's a little dance every time you have to put it on and it would really help to have a bit more color coding as all the black Velcro tends to quickly clump into itself if you aren't paying attention. Once you get used to it, it is relatively easy to get on and off but the Velcro can be so irritating it really makes you wanna look for a weapon to do harm to the thing that should be providing you with so much comfort lol

Comfortable but low quality
Product was very difficult to figure out once receiving and is difficult to maneuver for someone with in injured arm. The sling is comfortable however the quality is not the greatest and stitching was coming undone after a few days of fully wearing the device.

Comfortable
Great sling! it was a little confusing at first, but once we got the hang of it, it worked great! It was a total game changer for my son with his injury! It was soft and comfortable, and with the Velcro straps, they were easy to adjust! And it fit his arm nicely.

Soft, comfortable, stabilizing
I dislocated my shoulder (for the 4th time, ugh) and this brace is the best I’ve ever used. It stabilizes the arm and shoulder without being tight or abrasive. Even though I don’t have to wear it during the day, I still sleep with it on and don’t wake up from it moving out of place or cutting off circulation. I accidentally bought a large and had to return it, but the medium fits perfectly. Definitely have someone help you measure. It took me a minute to figure out how to put it on, but is super easy now. Watch a video. The “directions” make it more confusing imo.

It's a great immobiliser sling. Worked well for me after shoulder surgery. Unfortunately it took a longer than promised time to arrive.

The seller advertised about velpeau sling, which according to him would support my shoulder my shoulder injury, but sent me a totally different caretex brand arm sling which was of cheap quality and did not serve the purpose. For this I waited for one week, but Thank you Amazon, you understood my plight and agreed to refund the amount and I sent it back to the reseller. Don't trust the reseller.

The arm sling so much better than the one the hospital gave me. It is very adjustable and sits very securely. It has made a difference to the pressure spots on my arm from my previous sling.
