Sidewinder NEW Sandeel Fishing Lures - 6 inch

Been using these since February and they have proven deadly for inshore Pollack in anything up to around 60 feet of water. As long as it's not too windy and you're drifting <1 knot they can easily be fished just on the end of your line (although an extra inline swivel means you can add a length of flouro and make these things even better). Compared to frozen sandeels they tend to pick out better fish and they also mean less deep hooking. In deeper water or extra tide we've fished them on the end of a boom setup and they have been just as effective. The only time they don't work is when there are visibilty problems, we noticed the catch rate crashes when the plankton levels increase. In which case it's always handy to have either the Mac-Fire sidewinders to hand or a cheaper option is the Black or Black & Pink powerbait worms ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003ZZK9XU/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B003ZZK9XU&linkCode=as2&tag=a0b7a-21 ) . But overall these are fantastic lures and you should have no problem getting 20/30 fish per lure before they start to fall apart.

Normally I use surface, patchenko type lures, but just had two blanks in a row. Yesterday, arriving at my local rocky beach before dawn, I was again getting nothing for the first hour. Switched over to the sidewinder, and within 20 mins I had a 3 pound bass and a pb 7.5 pounder! For 25g lures, they don’t cast as far as I’d have expected, but bearing in mind the big one took literally at my feet, it probably doesn’t matter that much. Great action in the water.

I have caught bass on these from the first outing. They have excellent movement on retrieval and cast a long way too.

I shall be using these next week or as soon as the sea begins to clear in our area. They were a good price and delivered very promptly.

Swim beautifully, my only issue is the hook is stuck up too high, so it is quite easy to snag on things and has a tendency to collect weeds. Carefully bending the hooks down a little with a vice or pliers greatly improved its performance.

Leider nicht besonders fängiger Gummiköder, hat im Vergleich zu anderen beim Hechtangeln in den schwedischen Schären kaum zum ansonsten guten Fangergebnis beigetragen.
