I typically prefer Western Digital (red) over any other brand, but their prices have drastically increased over the past year. I've have had a few Lexar products in the past and decided to try this SDD for my current project. The price was fair for a 1TB. I had no trouble initializing this drive using an external adapter and my old HDD cloned over easily and quickly. This SDD has cut my bootup time to less than 15 seconds for a Windows 8 desktop pc that is about 15+ years old (I perform various upgrades every few years).

I needed an SSD that I could rely upon for our home automation plans, and this Lexar SSD (128gb) fit the need perfectly. A better solution storage-wise was required for our new plans to use Home Assistant because the micro SD card we had been using in a Raspberry Pi 4 to support a Homebridge server for our home automation would not cut it. Home Assistant would eventually burn up the micro SD from the increased read/write load. A quick order of the Lexar SSD (128gb) and we were up and running. We have been using it now for a month and it has performed flawlessly. For anyone looking for an inexpensive, but high quality drive, you cannot go wrong with Lexar SSDs, especially if you need to go along with a home automation setup.

The SSD looks really nice and has respectable speeds and would be a great upgrade from any Hard Disk. Though I wasn't really fascinated with the packaging, but it serves it's purpose as needed.

For the price it's worth purchasing it. It's been a month now since I've purchased and installed it in my 7 year ASUS laptop and it feels like a brand new laptop. I've also upgraded the memory RAM so everything runs smooth and the bootup time is about 5 seconds. No more lags and waiting for webpage to open up. I think newer laptops and desktops should be replaced with SSD's or M.2 drives over the HDD. But...they are way more expensive. My advice for everyone....if you purchase a new laptop or desktop that still has HDD in them...replace it right away. Use the SSD for your OS and bootup time while you use your HDD as a storage drive. It's something to think about folks! POWER ON!
