Great Brake System
I have been very happy with the Invisibrake. We have traveled about 1000 miles since install and it has worked well. Installation is not for the non-handyman and you should have a pretty good knowledge of your auto. I would also recommend that once you have decided were you want to install the brake in your auto disassemble everything in the car that needs to be removed than do a complete run through of the installation instructions and make sure everything will fit where you though it would and that it can be secured were you want it secured. The reason I recommend this is I thought I had completed the installation of the brake system cleaned up and secured my wire runs and sealed the grommet in the firewall when I focused on the brake light that gets installed in your RV. Well that wire has to run through the fire wall of your auto and connect to the cold side of your brake switch and that wire should have been run through the fire wall with all the other wires. So after kicking myself its back under the pick-up you get the picture. Once the brake installation was complete I had my wife drive the RV with Pick-up in tow around the local high school parking lot. I was in the pick-up to confirm the brake operation and to adjust the pressure. The main reason I chose the Invisibrake is because of the permanent installation. Should something happen to me while camping and my wife needs to move the RV and tow she will not need to struggle with the brake, just plug the 7 pin to 6 pin connector and break away switch and the brake system is ready. This system will also trickle charge your tow battery. I have seen friends arrive at camp grounds and their tow has a dead battery caused by the brake they choose. One thing I have found since the installation is that when I use the exhaust brake on the RV it must turn on the RV brake lights because the Invivibrake activates which helps slow us down when approaching red lights or in downhill situations. The Invisibrake does shut down after 20 seconds so you will need to get the exhaust brake to deactivate in order to get the Invisibrake to activate again. Could be an issue on long downhill runs. One issue I had and almost made me rate the Invisibrake at 4 stars was at least 6 different parts were missing from the parts bag. Both vacuum T's were missing and this delayed the installation. I first contacted Roadmaster since this over site was theirs. Once they found that I had used Amazon they would not help me. Now some of you may agree with this but I think when your name is on a 900 dollar product and a customer receives a less than perfect product, especially because you sell these parts separately on your web page, it would have been very simple for you to take my list and provide those products. Instead I had to go to Amazon and ask for a return authorization and have them send me another Invisibrake so I could pillage the parts I needed. So Roadmaster gets 3 stars The Invisibrake gets 5 stars Amazon gets 5 stars

Amazon is Not an Authorized Dealer
Installation was pretty straight forward. Be sure to do ALL of "before installing," procedures. I installed in a 2003 Chevy Tracker. Mounted controller/compressor under driver's seat. Brake actuator cylinder is directly behind the controller/compressor. The cylinder needs to be rather close as the actuator cable is a short fixed length. After installation and adjustment, we went out for a 2300 mile trip to LA, Las Vegas, Cedar City, Utah, then back home. We are very satisfied with the performance of the brake especially during sudden stops and down hill. However, about 2/3 of the way on the trip, the TOAD battery went dead. Didn't have a battery charger with us so waited until we were home to charge it. After charging, the battery was dead the next morning. Long story short, the Invisibrake developed a short circuit within the unit. I called Roadmaster and the tech support person helped me troubleshoot the system. Defective unit confirmed and they are sending a new unit. The tech support person informed me that Amazon is NOT an authorized dealer. Even though the Amazon site says the product is sold by Amazon, it is actually sold by Keystone, through Amazon. I believe that this is misrepresentation by Amazon. I could be wrong but, it is what it is. Also, the product is not in stock at Amazon, it is drop-shipped directly from RoadMaster in Vancouver, Washington. I actually received the InvisiBrake 2 days after I placed the order. I live just 6 hours drive from Vancouver. Bottom line: I like the InvisiBrake but am bothered by the way Amazon presents that they sell the product which, is untrue. Amazon uses Keystone to sell the products. Good news though, RoadMaster is making good on their product. EDIT: I received and installed the replacement InvisiBrake. I performed a test and found that the 5.78 miliamp draw is present in the new unit. I performed a voltage drop test and found that the battery is dropping by .5 volts per hour. In 8 hours the battery would be around 9 volts which would cause a no start situation. I have informed Road Master. I am thinking about putting a 30 amp relay in that would disconnect the battery from the InvisiBrake controller. If I do that, I will update this review.

Plan accordingly, take your time.... one of my Top 10 RV purchases.
A little more difficult to install than I thought. (cable/cylinder).... Plan on spending a little more time to get it right. Unit works good, hassle free, and completely hidden. Best part is nothing to deal with when unhooking for a short trip while "over-nighting" somewhere. Roadmaster products have never disappointed, I cannot imagine this will either. 2500 miles later, This was worth every dollar I spent and every minute it took to install. Unit operated flawlessly on every road/condition we had it on. Felt totally safe., long elevation drops where controlled with initial braking and unit releasing brakes after 45 sec to prevent brake overheating, even if "Jake Brake" on coach stayed on longer. We stopped in Cody Wyoming, unhooked and looked around while coach was parked. not hassling with a brake system was extra nice.... just unhook tow bar and go..... hook up bar and go again. No adjusting, moving brake device.... nothing.

Excellent Product
I recently installed the InvisiBrake on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I did all the installation work myself over a 3 day period. Total time approximately 8 hours but I work carefully. I already had the Roadmaster wiring harness installed which included 4 twin diodes, 2 on each side. I installed both the controller and the air cylinder under the driver's seat which worked out very well. There was already an oblong grommet just above the accelerator pedal which I used to run wiring for the emergency stop switch, remote brake monitor and tubing for the vacuum line. All went well but working under the dash is tedious at best. The brake petal switch on this model Jeep does not use 12 volt so I had to add a separate brake light switch which I bought at AutoZone for about $8 and installed using a bracket I fashioned from a scrape piece of 2" aluminum angle I had on hand. The electronics in this Jeep that operate the on board brake light circuit time out after 5 minuets so I did not need any additional equipment to allow the toad turn signals to work when the brakes are applied. This is an issue with some cars that can be resolved with an additional relay. Our motorhome had a spare unused conductor from the dash to the 7 pin socket at the hitch intended to operate electric trailer brakes. I used this and replaced my 4 conductor coiled connector cable with a 6 conductor cable which I bought from Roadmaster through Amazon. This cable came with a the required 6 conductor receptacle for the Jeep. We have completed only 1-4 day trip with the InvisiBrake system and it worked flawlessly. We had to make one panic stop on a twisty 2 lane road and all worked well. I wonder how things might have gone without the InvisiBrake. Excellent product for sure.

Should Have purchased this system First
Haven't gone on a trip yet but early test results are great. Sure this unit is a little more complex to install but once it's done the clean look is well worth it. We bought the Blue Ox Patriot removable system first, that was a waste of money for us. Our Jeep Liberty's floorboard just didn't have a sweet spot it could work correctly in. At best I got 15 or 20 miles down the road before going into alarm no matter what we try so, that just didn't work out. The Invisibrake install is as clean and hidden as they say it is. I shoved the main unit under the drivers seat and the actuator under the drivers side floorboard plastic cover. The hardest part of the install was aligning the brake pedal pulley. After the 3rd try though it worked perfectly. There's a fantastic video on youtube that shows you exactly how to install this on a Jeep Liberty. I had a several year newer model Liberty than the one in the video but, it didn't seem to matter. Luckily I had already installed the after market tail light harness so all I had to do was tap into it's wires going to the main unit and it was basically done. I would highly recommend that aftermarket light kit, it's the one you drill new lights into your existing brake light housings and you don't utilize your towed vehicle's wiring at all. I finished the towed vehicle portion of the install in 3 hours, I haven't gotten the motor home portion completed yet, apparently the wiring for the motor home is not required for this system to work. I hooked the Liberty up to my work truck for a trial run and the brakes worked exactly as they should even without the indicators for the MH being connected. This really is as simple as connecting your towed vehicle's hitch up to your MH, plugging in the trailer wiring and off you go. Once you get the brake setting dialed in like you need it I can't imagine having to ever think about this unit again. Their claim that this system charges your towed vehicles battery is beyond my comprehension. Where does it get this mystery electricity to keep the toad's battery charged? At no point does this system connect to the towing vehicles electricity so I can't think of how it comes up with the power to charge it's own battery. I have a solar charger I stick in the Toad's window and maybe that will help keep it's battery charged on long trips. I just don't buy their claim that this unit won't drain your towed vehicle's battery. In summary, it was an expensive lesson learned but this is the system I should have purchased to begin with. The easy way out rarely ever works.

Information on-line is misleading
I installed this system on a mini-cooper which took me 24 hours due this vehicle having everything packed together so tight. In the end I feel I was able to get the system install correctly and neatly. At this point I have found out several items that were misleading on line. First this is NOT a proportional braking system. Once the Motorhome brake lights come on it signals the system to apply a preset amount of force on the brake petal. You can adjust this amount, but it is the same if you are wanting to slowly come to a stop or you need to quickly come to a stop. Second, per the Roadmaster technical support line, the vacuum line going from the invisibrake main unit to the car’s brake vacuum cylinder is not used to supply a vacuum to the car’s power brake booster, but instead the unit uses vacuum out of the brake booster. He thought there would be enough vacuum in the booster to last 6 hours of driving. For me the vacuum in the booster is used up after the brakes have been used a few times. Thus, when I first hook up the car, the brakes work well and then after a few stops the stopping force is a lot less. As an Engineer, the tech support’s answer doesn’t seem to make since to me. Everything I have read on line says that some type of addition vacuum source is needed for the toad’s brakes to work efficiently, and some of the competitor’s system use a separate vacuum pump located in the engine compartment. Since my car is so light compared to the 31’ motorhome it isn’t a big deal for me. I do have some braking force and at least I am now legal, but I wouldn’t want to use this system with a big vehicle connected to a small motorhome.
