Amazing color and long lasting
Love this color! Didn’t stain my skin nearly as bad as other dyes. Only took a a bit of scrubbing in hot water and it was off. It’s stayed in my hair not fading for almost a month now. Which is great for me. The dark violet is a blueish purple which is exactly what I wanted. I did mine over medium/light brown and it shows great.

A Dye That Sticks
Absolutely blown away by this color. I have blue green veins and this green is the perfect compliment for me. It smells good, doesn't stain the skin as badly as other brands, and it sticks really well in my hair. I recommend lightening for the most vibrant color, but it isn't required if you are just looking for a glossy, colorful sheen.

It Stains but it is a Nice Color
Love the color! It did not dye my natural brown hair but the dye did work for the lower part of my hair that had been previously bleached and had dyed a pink shade that was fading (different product). I used gloves to put the dye on, which had a nice smell to it. I left it in for an hour before doing a rinse. That is when the fun started. Tub is purple. Hands are purple. Neck, ears, parts of my back, and bottom of my feet all turned purple. I used toothpaste to get it off of my hands. I allowed my hair to dry before going to bed. Woke up to a stained shirt, and dye on my ears. Seems it bled while I was sleeping. Washed that off my skin, and I went to wash my shirt but it stained it. Thankfully it was an old shirt! My brush is also covered in purple dye. I currently have my hair up so it won't stain me. How long until I can touch my hair? I can't even show it off and get a good look at it until I can actually brush and touch it without getting dye everywhere. Three stars for now. Lets see how long this color lasts, then I might change the rating. Just super annoying having the dye stain everything it touches. Update: The company reached out to me via FB comments. They told me to use a color sealer and that should stop the dye from staining. Great news, it worked! So I am adding another star to my review. The color is vibrant, my hair is soft. The staining was a annoying since I couldn't get a color sealer for a week after the dye process. But now that I know, I might stick with this brand. The color has not faded yet.

Oh this is going to be controversial, sorry IA
Alright so, I am a quick shopper even online, I’ll check reviews and pictures and maybe check out a YouTube video to see a better view of the color. I however didn’t notice it was vegan, I tend to avoid vegan products because simply I have not found any that meet my expectations for what I need or expect. I understand if it’s a lifestyle/ethical choice, more power to you, live your truth: but me personally, this brand now added to the list along with arctic fox are thumbs down for me. Arctic fox bleeds non stop everywhere, seems to permanently dye anything but your hair, and washes out in about 3 washes. Now with this product Pros: -it did not stain my skin, that was cool -it’s pretty thick so I did not make any kind of mess apply it, again cool -if you want like a fun little change for about a week, this is perfect because it washes out quick. -it didn’t bleed onto my clothes or bedding, or skin when washing my hair But that’s where the pros end Cons: - I couldn’t grip the seal so I used a safety pin to help me get an end up, some of the product came out on the safety pin and I saw even though it was thick, for hair color it’s fairly translucent. Red flag if you are experienced in regularly dying your hair 😩 if you want a lighter version or very temporary color it would be ideal, but for vibrance and hang time NOPE. -just when I rinsed it out, COLD WATER, and used no shampoo I could tell it was going to wash out quick, and I was right, it lasted about 3 washes total, pretty much gone after the 2nd wash honestly. My hair is not over processed or anything that would contribute to loss of color at that rate. I even use baby shampoo since it’s no harsh chemicals and honestly has helped preserve my colors better than any “color saving” products on the market. Another thing I didn’t favor was it didn’t stick to my freshly bleached roots. Again experienced hair artists know that usually will be the brightest spot, as well as bleaching helping seal color in if you do it correctly in a time period. So PRETTY MUCH if you want something temporary, or you’re wanting to test drive a color but not ready to commit; this is perfect. However if you’re looking for something that is long lasting, this is not it. May be a basic bih but I’ve been doing this for 17 years and have tried dozens of dye products and ion color brilliance I personally don’t feel can be beat. Extremely vibrant color, very minimal bleeding/transfer after coloring and even that just depends on the color, you may not get any bleeding or transfer at all. It also lasts a long time, as well as fades evenly so you won’t have splotchy hair as it fades, you’ll just go through lighter shades of Itself.

Long time user
Been using lunar tides for a long time. Ive tried other brands and this one has been the most successful for me. Doesn't leave my tub a mess, doesnt bleed, easy to apply, conditioning...just really don't have much negative experience with it. The pinks fade quickly, and the black...isn't black. But the blues, greens and purples....chefs kiss.

I am in Love
10 stars! I did some experimenting lol so I bleached my extensions first. They were a natural black color. I bleached them about 2 inches away from the roots to achieve that ombre look. I kept the bleach on until it was like a honey blond. I let it dry and waited for this beautiful green dye to arrive. I am thrilled with the outcome. It's a very dark but when the light hits it, you can see this gorgeous shade. I am very happy and will be purchasing more.

It's Long and Complicated
Please note: I'll be comparing this dye to Manic Panic's Infrared because that is my usual. This may not be the most comparable color between the two brands but is the dye that I am the most experienced with. I've written this whole thing out once, only to immediately accidentally delete it. This is probably going to be a longish review even with my attempt to hurry through my points. I did so much research before buying this dye and the pictures attached to this listing all look amazing. I have naturally blonde hair that I've been dying red for an eternity. My roots are light enough that I don't need to bleach them before coloring. Blood Moon is currently resting upon layers and layers of Manic Panic Infrared and Vampire Red. I love love love the quality of MP and the only reason I was interested in making a switch, was boredom with the same colors over and over again. Lunar Tides has a very positive reception around the internet. I came across a list of the best fashion dyes and Lunar Tides occupied the top place, with Manic Panic being several places behind. I decided that with all of the wonderful press I'd been seeing, it was worth trying a different brand. Blood Moon sounds like a thing that would be right up my alley, anyway. I don't like leaving negative reviews, so I am going to start with what I liked. The seller is prompt and the order was accurate. Packaging is adorable. The color is fine, it's not a bad red. My main gripe is that the color is terribly sheer. It looks like someone turned the opacity waaay down on Infrared. There is even a noticable difference with the formulas. Manic Panic is just much thicker and more pigmented. It's a similar contrast between liquid lipstick and lip gloss, with Lunar Tides being the latter. The intensity just isn't there. It's more of a tint or a stain, than a dye (on me). Maybe my hair type just isn't ideal for this dye? The color is okay. It's very classically red. When I dye my hair with Manic Panic's Infrared, it initially looks like a deep and shiny slice of red velvet cake. The color fades to a brilliant ruby red. There is so much depth to the pigment and it almost evolves, instead of washing out. I would not have to redye if it weren't for my roots. Speaking of roots! Lunar Tides did a real number on my new growth. It tinted the blonde with a light orangish copper. The overall color would be tolerable if it hadn't ghosted the top of my head. I had some left over Infrared from my last dye, which I wanted to use to add some dimension to Blood Moon. The sections that I dyed with Manic Panic are the only places were the color reaches all the way to the top of my hair. This isn't a bad dye. If you have bleached hair and you're looking for a lovely classic red, Blood Moon is your gal (probably). If you're dying over any deeper color, please do yourself a favor and skip this. Manic Panic is a magician when it comes to crimson. Infrared is intense, dimensional and long lasting. Vampire Red is a close second. I'm going to include labeled pictures to help illustrate my point. Thanks for reading, and to everyone who is out there on a research binge: good luck with whichever dye you reach for!
