So delicious
I love the sliced rice cakes. The last time I had these were made at PF Chang's, they called them Tams noodles. They discontinued them years and years ago and I search high and low for a recipe to try and make these...I didn't really know where to start since on the menu at the time these were called Tams noodles with abalone sauce. Gnocchi/noodle like. Supposedly Tam was a chef and was supposedly his secret recipe... Well there was nothing like them until I discovered these.... These are Tams secret noodles...I will be buying these often... Thank you

Yummy!
Rice cakes came fresh with no issues. Unfortunately the nature of rice cakes make them susceptible to getting moldy if they are in higher moist temperature. Its just how it is if you are ordering online. Once you get them do not leave them at room temperature, store them in a ziplock bag in the freezer and just take out what you need to cook. They will stay nice and fresh.

Strong Smell?
Had a strong smell I'm not used to from ordering other brands, had to rinse and soak in water longer than usual to get rid of the smell. Still cooks the same and tastes the same. Thanks!

How to eat and store rice ovaletts
You can typically buy this fresh or frozen from korean/large asian supermarkets. This packet comes vacuum sealed as pictured, so once opened, it will spoil quickly as noted in a previous review. These are pricy, but when you really want them, they are worth it. To use: soak it in water for at least 30min, then drain, then add to boiling soup/stock. Bring to a boil for 1-2min, and it's ready (they will be floating and turn from translucent to opaque). This is great in a wonton soup, which is the traditional way of eating these -- sprinkle a little crushed roasted seaweed on top along with sliced scallions and sliced scrambled egg and you have thokk mandu gook. I like to drop a handful of these into ramen noodles for more carbs and texture. To store once opened: if soaked in water, drain and freeze in a ziplock bag OR freeze the whole package unopened OR you can store this in the fridge sitting in a bowl covered in water (they sink in water before they are cooked) for a week or so. Once frozen, rinse them in cold water to free them from sticking to each other, and then soak in cold water for an hour at room temperature. Don't use hot water because it could par-cook them and change the delicate texture.

Love these rice cakes!
Love the texture these skinny disc rice cakes give! Soft but slightly chewy! Love these!

Unfortunately
I have ordered these rice cakes multiple times and always receive them fresh and well sealed. Unfortunately this time the package lost it's seal and they had soured upon arrival. They are unusable and I have no recourse but to throw them away and take the loss of the cost of them. Leary to re-order.

Nice and chewy rice cakes
Nice and chewy.. The preparation instructions are easy to follow. We live in a place where you can't easily find these. It's very nice to be able to have them delivered through Amazon. Not as cheap as back home. However, it's about the same price as driving to the store that's an hour away that carries these imports.

Rotten!!! Beware!!!
If it could give it ZERO stars I would. I am completely disgusted. I received this product and taking it out of the box (it came with something else completely unrelated in a big box) it looked rotten and moldy. There was apparent moisture in the bag which definitely shouldn't be in there since the cakes are supposed to be dried and vacuum-sealed. There must be a hole in the bag. It was so rotted, that the bacteria from the mold was inflating the bag. It was really quite disgusting! Unfortunately, I cannot return these or get my money back. I'm very disappointed.
