Fit nicely, with a good range of sizing, looks great, and kept my pup floating. He's a great swimmer, but having this vest will ensure he doesn't get exhausted treading water when we take him kayaking and boating. He zoomed across the water with this thing on and seemed to really enjoy himself more than usual. Definitely a great purchase. Time will tell how long it lasts, but it seems to be of quality construction. The brighter colors make it easy to spot him from a distance against the water. Bonus features are the leash loop and carry grip. Being able to pick him up easily and safely by the vest is a big help when on a boat or steep banks. The vest is is strong enough to support all of his weight, so I feel confident lifting him by the grip. Overall, seems like an excellent product and I'm very happy with it so far!

Aug 2025 Update Still 💯 but the next size up and this will probably be the one we keep for the lifetime of this dog now that she's not growing so quickly. Still a perfect life jacket. The Velcro security is not too noisy and the buckle straps to secure the Velcro are nice and easily adjustable. Took the dog boating for the first time in her jacket and she jumped right off the boat now that she is comfortable, just swimming in her jacket. Pretty awesome. Don't bother to keep shopping. This might be the one for you. --- Update: 💯 Great life jacket. We’ve been using it daily and puppers is loving it. Highly recommend and would definitely buy again. — We’re trying to see if 7month old Black Mouth Cur might be a fellow boater so we bought this vest and tried it out today. Pup liked the water and did swim, but this vest looks to a game changer. She’s 100% more confident. First Impressions Pros 1.) Fit - The fit is true to size. Read how to measure. (if you don’t own a soft measuring tape, just go for it and order one while you’re looking here on Amazon. It’s worth it.) Kobi was 23 inches. We bought the recommended size and it fits perfectly. 2.) Safety - The handle at the top of the jacket for lifting the dog! Notice how the handle runs along the dog’s back. This makes for great lifting power if assisting your pup to and from your vehicle and boat. Some vests on the market have two handles that run across the top of the jacket instead of down the back of the dog. I’ve never used them, but they look inconvenient and a likely personal back-breaker. Not good for me or pup. 3.) Comfort - Light weight and no chafing - Kobi didn’t give the jacket a second thought once she got in the water. We haven’t seen any chafing either. We did acclimate Kobe for a couple of hours for two days where she just worked around the house and got lots of praise for looking so pretty. I don’t know if that helped but it’s the right thing to do, even if she didn’t think so. Cons 1.) Noise maybe - It does have Velcro and clips for securing the vest. If your dog is afraid of either sound type, it might be a challenge. Neither bothered Kobi. But, she’s a really laid-back dog

I am a long time fan of these life jackets. They make great products that are very well made. My dogs' life jackets have stood the test of time, and they are still looking and functioning great. They fit my dogs well; my dogs are still able to move around and have full range of motion. The handle on the top is nice for when lifting the dogs out of the water and into a boat. Love these life jackets - have bought many and I am a fan for life. One thing that I would advise, though, is that while they offer all different colors, the yellow and orange are going to be the colors you will want to buy. These colors are so bright, you can immediately see your animal wherever they are in the water. Makes it great for safety purposes.

For reference, my dog is an eight month old lab mix. He is a little over 70 pounds now and he was right in between sizes. Originally, I ordered him the large and it was pretty snug in the Velcro area. The extra large is a little big on him, but since he’s only eight months old I’m sure he’ll grow into it. It appears to be well-made with quality material. Admittedly, we have not tried this in the water as we purchased it for a river float that we will be on in a few weeks. If it happens to hinder him on our float due to it being a little too big, I will update my review, but as of right now, I am happy with the purchase. I don’t know if you can tell by the photo, but my dog is not. He absolutely hates being in this lifejacket, but I’m sure once we get to the river he’ll get over it lol.

I got this for my 13” 30 lb sheltie, and it was perfect! Though I did have to have everything on the tightest notch. It was just what I wanted. The colors are beautiful, and matched my dog perfectly! We used it for river rafting, and was glad she had it on, as she fell in once, going over a wave, and having the handle, it was very easy to pull her back in. Plus I used the handle to get her off and on the raft, and the shuttle. Her held up well! The Velcrow, and straps are very easy to use. It is also fairly light weight. Not heavy at all. I added a video of her rolling in her life jacket, after she got wet, she wanted to roll around in the grass. You can see she’s happy to wear it. Definitely recommend this life jacket!

My 17 lb. dog, "Duggie", had outgrown his old lifejacket so I did some research and decided on this one. The medium size fits him perfectly. It's easy to put on, well made, and stylish--the cute camouflage blue design makes him look like a boss. Definitely recommend! Now for the story: Duggie has always been a challenge on the boat. He's nervous, panting, and has always been a handful on the water. I have tried putting him in a doggy backpack and other carriers as well as medications to calm him. Nothing has really worked great so we end up just holding him and comforting him as best we can. So today was his first day in the new life jacket. It was pretty choppy and very windy so I thought it was going to be a long day since Duggie really doesn't like a lot of waves. Funny thing is, with his new life jacket on, he was cool as a cucumber the whole day! He tolerated the waves, wind and actually seemed to be enjoying himself--no shaking, panting--we were shocked! The only thing it could be is the new lifejacket--it has a nice snug fit all around his body with the velcro panel on his belly, and that with the cushion under his chin made him feel safe and secure. It was amazing. I think we found the cure to his boating anxiety quite by accident with this lifejacket! Not sure if this was factored in to the design of the jacket but I am certainly glad we found it. Highly recommend!

Bought in since Large for my pittie - 29" chest. For whatever reason, my dog was afraid of her feet leaving the ground in water. She jumped off the SUP, looked at me as if she had a moment of realization, and proceeded to swim in all directions. She's been comfortably swimming since. It fits well and does a great job at keeping her afloat. Great quality. This review comes almost a year after buying, and the vest is still in fantastic condition.

I’ve got a 45-pound Shepherd/several-others mix that does everything with us. I just bought a used ski boat in March and on her first trip out in it she jumped in unprompted into the lake and she really struggled to swim back toward the boat. I thought I was going to have to go in after her. Anyway, that prompted me to seek out a doggy life vest and after reviewing many I went with this one. It’s great! Yesterday I took her to the lake by myself and she several times completed a routine where I would park about 30 yards offshore and put her in the water using the handle pointing her towards shore telling her to “go pee pee”. She swims to the bank, does her business, explores for a little bit, then when I call she slides back in the water and paddles to the boat swim deck where I pick her up by the seemingly very sturdy handle on the vest and set her back in the boat. The contrast between the flailing in the water without the vest and the gentle cruising she does with the vest on is remarkable. I feel like if she quit paddling she would just float, but her instincts will never allow me to see if that’s the case or not. But there were also several times I parked in a cove and did some swimming myself and she would come off the bank and swim laps around me and the boat just for the sake of wanting to do some casual swimming, which I don’t think she’d do if she felt like she was having to put much effort into it. I bought her a large which fits perfectly. I worried about the fit because she has a really narrow waist and big barrel chest like a greyhound or something. However, the two straps that secure the mid-section cinch up individually around the chest and waist and it works really well. There is also a loop to attach a leash on the back by the handle which came in handy yesterday for walking her from the truck to the boat dock and back after I’d forgotren to put her collar back on after her bath the night before. Works like a leash harness really. It’s very nice. In summary, I highly recommend this for your dog out on the lake. Super handy and gives you great peace-of-mind.
