I’m not aware of a station greeting sound, although the train makes noise when you push it.

It has one tunnel, and a metro station area. This is a very nice set. My grandson loves this Brio set. Very good quality.

Q: Is the engine supposed to move on it’s own? I see others have answered yes, but the one we have does not. It lights up and makes sound, but that’s it.

No, the engine/train DOES NOT move on its own. It makes sounds, as you move it by hand. This train set is really fantastic, my son (5 now) has been playing with it for over 2 years now and it doesn’t get old. For anyone who lives in a city with a subway system, this train is particularly awesome, as it looks more like a subway/metro train than the usual train set.
