Good for smaller (18 ft boat) and trailer.
Good jack. Works well. Not designed for heavy loads. Works great on 3000lb boat trailer. . I would buy again for light duty boat trailer, NOT for 5000lb boat trailer.

Great for the money, easy to install.
I purchased this for my popup camper and I believe you will not regret this purchase for the money. I'll address the most common complaints: (1) Bolts too long: Yes they are long, no problem for me because they are just pointing into the LP tank, I can see for boat trailers where you are climbing around the frame to load and unload that there would be a problem. There's a one-star post that says it's a 4-star ranking but folks only read 1-star posts that has some good suggestions. (2) Handle hangs down when jack is in up position. Actually, the way I mounted mine and the direction I have it going the handle points up, but up or down it stays in place if you totally retract the wheel and add the slightest amount of pressure, Even if pointed down there's plenty of clearance and it doesn't flop around. (3) Finally, loose and rattles, not stable. It's a $35 dollar jack with a pressed steel joint, it's plenty tight for my needs and works fine, don't expect ball-bearing performance from a pressed steel joint.

Doesn't retract enough to fully clear
First off, this is a very good product. The construction is very solid (it's much heavier than I expected.), installation was easy (be sure to read the instructions, as the main mounting bolts need to be installed such that they don't interfere with the jack swinging) and operation is flawless (with the exception of my comment below.) I am no expert, but this is an excellent solution for the money.Unfortunately, I'm knocking off a star because it's just slightly too tall for my needs. When fully retracted, it's extended about 2 inches too low to clear the ground to swing it in and out of position.I have a pretty standard Reese hitch on a 2017 Honda CR-V pulling a simple 5'x8' Lowes trailer. The ball mount is one of those "drop" designs. When the trailer is attached to the ball, there not enough clearance to completely swing down the Trailer Jack. It's a small trailer, so lifting the front allows me to swing the jack down, however if the trailer is loaded, lifting is difficult (and dangerous.) I tried flipping the ball mount over so the ball is "raised" instead of "dropped"and this helped significantly, however it still sits about a 1/2 inch too low to easily swing the jack. I can make it work, but it's not perfect. I just wish the jack would retract an extra couple inches. That said, I foresee this being used and useful for many years.

Perfect Utility Trailer Jack
Bought this to replace the old jack that was center mounted… this one is well built, simple to install (10 minutes or less) and the wheel and rotating design is a game changer. Once seated on the trailer ball, you only need to raise it about an inch off the ground and the easily pivot the jack so it is completely out of the way. It locks into place (up or down) very securely.Be sure to add grease via the zerk fitting near the top which should help it last a very long time. The only thing I’ve noticed is that it helps to put a bit of pressure on the wheel when you are cranking it to lower the wheel… otherwise Turing the crank handle clockwise might not actually move the shaft.

Recommend this -- it works!
For years I had been wrestling a very heavy, old trailer. Every time I had to hook it up to the vehicle I would either hurt my back or slice a finger open. I finally broke down and ordered this jack (after reading others' reviews). It's awesome. Works so smoothly. I no longer worry about chopping off a finger and with the swivel, I don't have to fight everything. I can actually back the vehicle up and get hooked up with very little hassle.I am 58 year old female and I have to do everything by myself; this jack really works. The installation was a bit of a trial (I'm pretty sure I didn't do it absolutely right), but it's on there.Recommend.
