Obsessed!
I have always used KitchenAid mix master but I decided to try SMEG. I am so glad I did. The appliance does not move, which is one thing KitchenAid always had a problem with. It feels very powerful and I feel confident that my bread dough will get mixed correctly.! I definitely recommend

WARNING: Metal particles falling out of motor into dough -- Smeg service offered no help
I used this mixer less than a dozen times for cookie, pizza, and bread dough. After one year, gray metal filings began falling out of the motor housing where the attachment connects. At first I believed it was because the dough hook was not securely attached. However, that turned out not the case because it consistently rains small bits of metal like filings -- similar to graphite -- on the dough hook and into my dough after a few minutes. It caused unpleasant-looking gray streaking in my bread and pizza dough. This also occurs while running by itself, with nothing in the bowl. The pictures posted show the gray greasy particles produce after running 5 minutes without mixing anything. I contacted Smeg Service and they politely said that they would not replace or repair because I contacted them just passed the one-year mark despite notifying them the problem occurred within the one year of purchase. Rules are rules and they offered absolutely no help. I asked Smeg service if they would service and charge me and they declined and would not recommend any means to even pay for a repair. For the price of close to $600, it should perform for more that year. It looks great but I do not recommend actually using it since metal filings in food are dangerous.

Very heavy duty mixer that is also NOT annoyingly loud.
It handles heavy doughs and tackles each task with ease. It is also very quiet relative to other mixers we have had. Seems well built and will hopefully last for a long time.

Love the 50’s theme
Love it.. beautiful design .. love the button in the back not on the side like a kitchen aide .. stays in place and no rocking or bouncing

Top performer!
This machine worked beautifully with heavy bread dough. Great value for a high powered mixer.
