If your dog (or you!) has long hair this is a must have!
As a groomer I need a brush that has longer pins than a standard slicker to use on my goldens, collies, and doodles. This was the perfect purchase! Comfortable to use, soft pins that don't stab the dog's skin but with enough length and rigidity to get all the way to the skin and gently pick apart loose mats. Cut my brushing time down considerably for dogs with thick coats and long hair, I will never be without this brush again!

Happiness for both you and your furry kid~!
A review about a brush? And, why would anyone spend more than $5 or $10 bucks for a "dog brush"??Well, I am here to tell you that all brushes are not the same~!I have three furry kids. All are mutts, all have different coats. I have an Aussie/Poodle mix that has really long hair that ends up 'fluffy' when brushed. I have a 'Shorkie' with long fine straight 'hair' (not fur). And I have your typical terrier-mix with short white hair that sheds 24/7 and gets everywhere (even on my toothbrush).I have found that I need more than one brush, and there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" dog brush. For those of you seeking a 'pin' type brush, in my book, this is simply the best brand, period! Worth the cost, why? Because Jack (my Aussie mix) has told me so in plain dog speak~! At 15 months of age it had gotten to a point that he would leave the room when he saw me reaching for his brush (yes, he CAN tell if I am reaching for *his* brush, rather than for one of his siblings). Now, after switching to this fine brush (2 months now) he will not only not leave the room, but will come and sit, waiting for his daily brushing. This is not for removing mats! But it will find them, and help you shrink them as much as possible before reaching for whatever tool you choose to use to remove the mat. These brushes come in different 'pin' lengths. Other pin brushes I have used only came with short pins, 20mm or so. I have found with the volume of Jack's coat, the longer 27mm pins help greatly and I am very glad I chose this size.Compared to other brands of pin brushes, these pins do not catch or grab hair/fur. The real secret to jack's willingness to be brushed! I find it very easy to remove hair from this brush, and this brush also works on my terrier mix's short fur, even with the longer pins, all this brush does is simply collect more fur before it is full :)The pins are stiff enough to do the job, but not so stiff as to be painful to Jack (or Sammie) at all. Very high quality, well made, every pin is straight, and correct. The brush comes both in the 'normal' fashion, and also as a "T" handle. I own both, and I switch between them and have yet to decide which I prefer most - I have bad hands, "OA", and 50-odd years of abuse has made them stiff and weak. So you do have choices both in pin length, and in handle style. In this day and age, the old adage of "you get what you pay for" applies and is correct. They honestly are worth the cost, and while I have only had mine a few months, I do believe it will last (assuming I neither lose it, or let Jack eat it).

Best brushes I have every purchased
I've used Chris Christensen's brushes for 20 years. My shorter tine brushes are 20 years old and are in perfect condition for my terriers. I needed the the longer time brush for my Smooth Collie - as expected it works great! All of Chris Christensen products have been fabulous. I've shown my Australian Terriers since 1999, and now a Smooth Collie. There are two types of dog people: those who use Chris Christensen products and all others.

Not impressed
So I was very excited to get this brush because I have heard so many good things about this brand name, but unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. I used the brush several times and noticed the pins were moving so much and even criss crossing but I thought maybe that's the way it was supposed to be...then I went to a dog show last weekend and saw the same brushes at one of the stands so I went over to look at them. I picked up several brushes to compare to the one I had at home and the pins on the brushes at the dog show were much more stable, and may have been a little thicker. It makes me wonder if what I have is a cheaper version (though the cost was the same)

Chris Christianson pin brush
I really loved this brush for my old English Sheepdog until I was brushing her and heard something hit the floor and when I looked she had picked the pin up. Luckily I immediately got it from her or the result could have been tragic had she swallowed it. I’m trying to find out where I can get in touch with the company

Pin Brush
This is my most favored pin brush I have ever used, and I have owned a lot of pin brushes. It makes quick work detangling my Otterhound’s hair, yet is gentle on the skin. This brush is a good brush for medium to long haired dogs. Definitely worth the splurge in price.

Great brush removing undercoat
This brush was recommended to us by our breeder and it is absolutely the best! We have a golden retriever and this brush does a great job removing the loose hair from his undercoat without irritating him. He actually lays there and enjoys being brushed out (or coarse a few reinforcing treats during the brush out help!). This brush doesn't self clean but it does exactly what it's suppose to do, removes hair effectively and without irritation.

How did I go so long without this brush?!
This is a must buy. Specially for those with long haired dogs. I don’t know how and why I went so long without this brush. It make grooming my little girl sooo much easier. She’s a long haired Shih Tzu. She’s always enjoyed her grooming sessions, specially because of the treat that comes at the end, but she seems to like it more now because of the nice massage this brush gives her.

Best brush ever!
This was highly recommended, but I hesitated because it is a bit pricey. However, I got it and am REALLY glad I did. This goes through my Rough Collie's fur better than any other pin brush I've tried. I plan to save up for other CC grooming products. In the long run, you will probably pay less than buying 6 of every cheap product trying to find one you like.
