Looks great, works great.
After I installed these blocks and put the knives up, the first time my wife walked into the kitchen her reaction was "OMG that looks so amazing!" (and she was initially skeptical that she'd want her knives up). I bought two (apparently I like knives). They were relatively easy to put up; the only minor kink is you have to adjust how far out the screw is from the wall to get a tight (but not too tight) fit, so there was some futzing. The template makes screw placement and leveling straightforward. From a looks perspective, in person they look the same as the pictures, and I love the pattern of metal and wood. The magnets hold up the knives well at any point on the block, there is no danger of any of my knives falling off. Construction is great, and the whole thing just screams quality. I would totally buy these again if I needed a wall mounted magnetic block.

Magnetic knife bars are the bomb. This one is even bomber
Magnetic knife bars are GREAT. They hold knives with a strong, satisfying ker-thwack, and keep them handy for immediate grabbing. They're infinitely better than a drawer and even better than a knife block (they use less counter space, and you don't have to hunt for a slot for the knife, just THWACK it back on there). This particular knife bar works fabulously and is also gorgeous. The magnet pattern inlaid in the wood makes for a unique and eye catching design, and incidentally exposes the magnets near the surface for prime gripping strength (while keeping them just subsurface so knives don't actually scrape on the metal). The wood is beautifully finished and the whole thing is put together super nicely.

Well crafted. Beautiful.
Beautiful craftsmanship. We bought the cherry finish. It was easy to install and hold so many of our knives.

Good looking and functional!
I bought a 12" knife rack in cherry. It's very well made; the wood appears to be solid cherry. It's definitely not some cheap white wood with a cherry stain. I like, too, that the magnets are slightly recessed. Magnets are extremely hard metal, much harder than knife blades, so this keeps the edges from getting dinged. Holding power is very adequate. Right now I have a 10" Dexter scalloped bread knife, a 12" Dexter carving aka slicing knife, a 10" Dexter butcher knife plus a couple of other knives hanging. All are held tightly but it is easy to remove them by simply rotating the handle so the sharp edge rises towards me and I lift the back edge off the rack. The sharp edge never touches anything; only the side of the knife touches. With the supplied wall anchors the rack rocks slightly. I suggest adding some thin pads on the back near the corners to match the tiny height that the anchors stick out from the wall.

Attractive and functional. Could attach to the wall more securely.
The Magnetic Wooden Knife Bar Holder Strip is attractive, well made, and holds even large knives securely. In fact, the magnets are so strong that I Chinese vegetable cleaver I use was extremely hard to get off! I fixed the problem by sticking on some thin self-adhesive pads (the sort people sell to protect tabletops from vases, etc.) on the cleaver's spot to reduce the magnetic attraction. My only gripe with the holder is the method used to attach it to the wall. It has two slots in back that you slide over screws. There's just a little more flex than I'd like (and I have the screws snugged down so that bar is a tight fit). In my installation there was no way to put the screws into a stud, so they're anchored in gypsum wallboard, and there's just to much flex. In fact, when I first hung up my vegetable cleaver, I thought I might damage the wall taking the cleaver off. Honestly, I wish there were visible screws in all four corners, just for the extra security.

Looks & Works Great
Great looking, and holds all my important knives. Zero slippage--the magnet is strong, yet doesn't fight you when you pull a knife off the rack. Even my cleaver stays put. A perfect alternative for those (like me) who have no counter space for a knife block.

The best knife holder you'll find
Looks awesome, Craftsman ship shows in the finished piece. It was packaged carefully. Magenta holds my knives with no wiggle and no dead spots. I wiped some board butter on it then mounted it to my wall. Now I need to upgrade my kitchen knives.
