I first discovered gaffer tape in film school. It's a black tape with the top feeling like a plastic fabric, with a sticky side that is sticky but doesn't leave a residue. One of the biggest perks with this tape: you can cut it with your hands. It won't rip easily by itself, but it is easy to rip by hand. You can use it to hold down thick wires, bind equipment together, or just keep things in place. It's like duct tape but better, and like I said, it doesn't leave a gross residue because it comes off cleanly (with the exception of having this taped to something for years). And it's waterproof! Strong, sticky, easy to cut. This is the trifecta of a good tape for any handyman, or for everyday use around the house. Recommended.

I've heard about gaffers tape, but didn't give it any thought. But I ran into a situation in which my usual, duct tape, shouldn't be used. Duct tape tends to leave a lot of difficult to remove residue. If I do need to use the tape, I can't leave bad residue. While I haven't used it long enough to test for residue, short term it left none. I tried it on a worn, painted surface, on stainless steel, and plastic. Perfect! Also, it's much more flexible than duct tape, and conforms to awkward shapes. It has a cloth-like backing that seems very strong, yet it is fairly easy to tear by hand. And the adhesive is very sticky. I was looking for a highly rated, reasonably priced roll of gaffer tape, preferably a smaller roll. None of the smaller ones seemed to be that great, so I ordered this larger one. I'm glad I did! If it was cheaper, I'd replace duct tape with this completely. Highly recommended!

Size works for me doing studio work. It releases perfectly, leaving no residue.

You think you know tape? You have rolls on rolls in your shop? If you don't have a healthy stock of gaffer, you don't know schtick. Seriously, this stuff will have you believing in magic. Its all the best parts of electrical tape, duck tape and painters tape mixed with the dark arts. Flexible, strong, unlimited applications and doesn't leave behind goo. Man, hats off vendor, you'll some crazy ass angels offering gaffer at this price. At my local hardware store I can't get it for less than 30 bucks. Now I got thicc chicas all over my shop, they see that gaffer, they know I got stacks.

I think this is the perfect tape. Very strong, fantastic hold and easy to peel with no residue or damage (I’ve had to use it on cabinetry, for example, and it didn’t harm the finish in the least). It’s the tape I reach for first. It literally has no downsides.

This gaffer tape is good stuff. In a few days it has become my go to tape for photo/video projects as well as woodworking, a luthier project, and even a quick repair for some shelter dog walking equipment. As a bonus when you order the tape you get an email with a link to a pdf telling you all about gaffer's tape. It is fun and informative and clearly indicates the passion the company founders have for gaffer's tape. That passion has created a quality, well priced product. The only bad news is that my nearly 60 year relationship with duct tape is now slipping away and will likely be completely gone if I can ever get all of the sticky residue off of things.
