The Brown shrunk with time?
Update: I actually found Brown website and there you can see all their models and sizes and there are larger alarm clocks then this one. I have been buying and using the Brown alarm clocks for many years and the strange thing I noticed is that they get smaller.. and smaller.. and smaller.. and smaller and smaller.. okay you get the idea. This clock is sOOOOOOOOOOOOOO small that I laughed when I opened the box. I am trying to find some commonly used object to give you the idea of the size.. If you take One Dollar Bill.. this alarm clock is about the height of the dollar bill width and about one third of the length of the bill. It is really really tinny. It is so tinny that you have to look at it quite hard from a distance of your bed to make the arrow if the light is any bit less then perfect. Like this was not enough they make the setting it so difficult that it spins your head. Unlike most clocks that you can easily grab the turn thingy to adjust it or you can use your thumb to turn this thing has two round dials to set the time and the alarm time but!.. they are so small and so flat that no tricks works .. the only way to set them is actually use your fingernail of the opposible thumb and index situation and insert your nails into the groove and turn it that way. Very unpleasant and creepy situation and if you by chance keep your fingernails very short or have big fingers then good luck to you! I think that this should be named in all honesty a Toy Brown or Baby Brown clock because of this tinny size. I would say it is about one half or one htird at most of what the Brown clocks used to be. I would think that this clock is great for travel and if you have nimbly fingers but if you want to use it for everyday work then it is kind of funky idea. Does it work? Yes. I inserted the battery and it started working. It is silent however its seconds arm does not run smoothly fluidly like many clocks but rather jumps one jump per second I like that as opposed to fluid movement so that is one plus. Also if you insist on getting it and if you don't need to change the alarm time often then you are also in luck as once the time is set all you have to do is to just pull up the tab on the top to activate the alarm or push it down to deactivate so that way you don't need to set anything other then that daily, just remember to pull out that thing in case you want to wake up in the morning. It has a side light, that is good as you can press it to see the time at night. .. IF you find it first in the dark on your night stand that is :).. as it is so small.. did I already say it is small? LOL LOL LOL.. the alarm clock has three sound levels and frequency.. one is slilent and normal the next is louder and more frequent and the last one is loudest and almost constant beep. sound level is good for normal person to wake up by. It has the snooze button located on the top. I wish it was the same as the light as having to locate the light on the side is a bit more tricky when you are half asleep and much easier to smuck it on the top. So If I could have it my way, I would ask Braun to kindly bring back the original size of the clock. Ideally also those versions that you can clap to silence in the morning.

The best for its size
I always had a square alarm clock of about 2 1/4 inch side, but as the movement became unreliable, i went on a quest to find the same size. This is the ideal size for me because I need a clock that does't clutter the limited surface of my night table. I came across a clock a few years back that had the right size and a silent sweeping movement, but had a design flaw that bothered me every time I looked at it: the handles were too wide and too long for the dial, as if they put together components that were not destined to meet. I was casually browsing for an alternative last weekend and came across this little Braun clock. The dial is minimalistic and simply beautiful. The white handle for alarm setting very unobtrusive against the white dial, with the orange seconds hand subtly contrasting. What I especially like is that the seconds hand doesn't sweep, it ticks second after second as a traditional quart clock, yet it is virtually silent. Best of both words. Overall, it is a plastic clock but feels well-made and pleasant to the touch. Great purchase, and the perfect size - for travel or home!

Adorable, functional, easy to use
An adorable little travel alarm clock. I use it as a back-up for an Echo Spot alarm, and for all sorts of uses at home or away when I need the reassurance of being able to see a clock with hands, rather than have to pick up and look at my phone. It usually lives at the other side of the bed, sometimes it visits the top of the piano, and I've even had it on my table during a hospital stay.

Yes, it is impossible to set the time!
It's a lovely little alarm clock, but the reviewer who said it's impossible to set the time ... was right! It's very difficult to move the knob ... it feels frozen and does not want to move. The identical version in black works perfectly, so avoid this white one.

Good Travel Clock; Tough Time Set Winder
Size was nice and small, perfect for travel. The numbers were easy to ready, and it’s also a silent ticking. It would’ve been the perfect clock, if only the winder or dial to set the time wasn’t too hard! You have to push it in hard or use something on the grids to turn it.

Great!
I love this clock, compact and quiet. But last night the light button stopped working so I can’t check the time when it’s dark. But I will continue to use it for the time. —————————————————— I have to edit the review, because I just noticed that my clock was running late like 5-10min everyday so I just changed my battery and guess what? The light is working again.. Fantastic! A keeper!

Dials do not glow in the dark for long
I bought this to replace an IKEA travel alarm clock, which I decided to replace because the glow or lume in the dark was poor to nonexistent. Well--the lume on the Braun is scarcely better. I'm very surprised. Yes, I flashed light on it to activate the glow, but it lasted mere seconds. The whole idea is that it should glow in the dark. The IKEA is about five bucks; this is substantially more, but I see no difference in performance. It's going back.

Braun - As reliable and well-designed now as it was 30 yrs ago. Timeless, classic, compact.
I wanted an analog battery-operated alarm clock, like I had years ago. The Braun alarm is compact, has a light, snooze and does what I want it to do. I do not like the idea of having an IPhone next to my head on a nightstand when sleeping because of the radio frequency waves that are emitted from it. No muss, no fuss - does the job.
