Mitigating joint discomfort lifting heavy after 50
If you occasionally feel like working out mid life is a bit like working on your first car as a kid, while you were working on changing the front brake pads, the side view mirror fell off, this oil might be for you. As I progressively overloaded on some exercises, my left shoulder and left elbow started to complain. For whatever mobility reasons, my left shoulder hates back squats. My left elbow hates bent over barbell rows. I apply this oil liberally about 30 minutes before my workout, so much so that it slowly builds to a stinging sensation, and then settles into a soothing heat. It has made a world of difference for me, especially for my left shoulder. Now it's in my Subscribe & Save setup. Two caveats: 1, I've had it stain gym clothing, but I found soaking with Dawn dish soap easily removes it where my laundry detergent would not. 2, be very careful about getting this oil on any sensitive bits. When I apply it liberally to my shoulders, it occasionally gets close enough to my armpits to really sting. I don't think it's going to knock you out, but it does take some grit to get past the peak sting as the oil works its way into the soft tissue. As an aside, this was recommended to me by a trainer I hired for several months when I got serious about powerlifting. He is an US Army Reservist, amateur MMA fighter, and now a US Marshall who likely knows a thing or two about pain management (thanks again Nick).

Excellent Product...If used properly
First time I tried this I ran, jumped rope, and hit the pole bag like a mad man. I felt great, body was on fire and relaxed. The smell is nostalgic and makes you wanna get in the ring and exchange blows (just my imagination). In all seriousness, this is a great oil after a warm up and prior to an intense work out, feels great and keeps muscles warm.

Not just for Muay Thai and better than Tiger Balm!
I wanted to see which was better this or Tiger balm.I used to do Muay Thai and I used to always see guys use this. I am now in wrestling and many other sports, including lifting and I tried using this. I absolutely love it! This is not solely for Muay Thai use! Before I exercise or lift I warm up to open pours then use this stuff but let me tell you it burns. For this stuff to be affective you have to open your pours be it exercise or a hot shower, if you don't this won't seem effective and you will be left with a bottle of what you think to be disappointment. I recommend using it before your workouts after warming up as it will make you loose noose rubber goose. Overall I think this is a lot better than Tiger balm if you open your pours, if you don't warm up or like to sweat a little before working out go with Tiger balm as it does a good job penetrating without open pours, but lacks the strength the linement has when your pours are open. Love this product! P.S Shake the hell out of the bottle each time before you use it!

This is the real deal. I put this one just when I step out the shower and it's like my whole body just got slapped by a hot chili pepper. It's HOT! But man it warms up well and it loosens up my muscles well. I put these on my calf and shoulders before training Jiu-Jitsu and it helps me stretch them out well. I slap them on again after training and let it soak in on the way home. When I step out the shower, I'll apply it again and sleep it off. When I wake up the next day, no pain whatever. Really happy I took the advice of fellow training partners and bought myself a bottle. I've used one bottle for the last few months and I train about 4 times a week and I still have more than half!

Great all purpose rub too
I'm not a boxer or even training to be one. I do a very light workout occasionally at home but really in general I use this any time I'm sore or under the weather. I love the smell of it and you really feel like you can breath in so much more air after getting a few whiffs of this. As for relieving sore muscles, it seems to do that about as good as any other muscle reliever. However, what's different is this has sort of a lasting effect where it feels like more blood is going through wherever you rub it. The skin really seems to absorb the liquid and hold on to it. This can help a healing process as well as get blood to your muscles. My one bottle has lasted me almost a year now as of this review but I'll buy another when it runs out.
