I've been using this product for 2 years and it works as stated. I have sensitive skin and this doesn't irritate my skin at all. Every so often, I've asked those close to me if they've noticed any odors over the past two years and they've always replied no. I've used other brands previously that were specifically labeled as "gentle" or for "sensitive skin", which were anything but. Those were also HIGHLY scented and irritated my skin, unlike this product which is very effective without all the unnecessary chemical additives. I feel the coconut oil has soothing properties and it actually helps keep my underarm skin healthy instead of making it parched, like other brands do. This product doesn't state that it's for sensitive skin but for me it's far more gentle than any other brand I've used. I also like that it doesn't contain any harsh anti-perspirants so my body can breathe and cool itself off properly through the natural act of sweating. The act of sweating releases toxins through your skin pores so it's not healthy to impede that process. This product supports that natural process by not containing any anti-perspirant chemicals. Although it's labeled as unscented, science will tell you that everything in the world has a scent (even water) and this product has a very minimal wisp of a scent that's nearly imperceptible. Manufacturer's usually refer to this as a 'masking scent' so you don't notice the smell of chemicals in a product. However, this product has minimal chemicals (that's why I chose it) so there's not much to cover up and that's a good thing! Neither I, nor anyone else that I've asked, can detect a fragrance. The ONLY time I can smell anything is when I apply it to my underarms, so the product is obviously in closer proximity to my nose. As I glide it across my skin a faint scent of a Lifesaver's pineapple flavor candy takes me immediately back to my happy childhood memories. It lasts for a few seconds and then it's gone. Could just be me but every time I use this I end up with a smile on my face. 😊 I think this happens because your underarm skin is warm so the deodorant also warms and the solidified coconut oil melts a bit as you apply it, which releases the barely-there scent. I don't smell coconut, I smell glorious pineapple! Whoever thought to make it like this is genius! For those of you who don't smell anything for those few seconds, you're missing out.

After my whole life of trying various deodorants, I was consistently using Degree 72 hour antiperspirants spray, which I would have to apply in the morning after my shower and then once again before bed. While it had a pleasant scent, the aerosol was stifling and it left unremovable stains on my shirts. I learned about the toxicity of aluminum in deodorants and antiperspirants—which are found in every brand. After researching healthier options to aluminum deodorants/antiperspirants, I tried “Lūme,” which I enjoyed and found it helpful, but I was later recommended Native and decided to give it a try. I can genuinely say that this is the BEST and effective deodorant I have ever used. It did burn a small amount at first, but I expected that from baking soda being an ingredient. The longevity is fantastic, no reapply necessary, and my body odor has improved since using. I have no longer had that “onion” smell after sweating. Also, I have not noticed any stains to my clothing since using, which has always been an issue with antiperspirants that I have used in the past. I can fully recommend this product to everyone. The beneficial results were noticed immediately as opposed to the negatives from other brands. Native Deodorant is a healthier and effective deodorant; as it doesn’t contain any harmful ingredients and lasts even through intense workouts without reapplication.

Excellent product, unscented as advertised, and works throughout the day. I deducted 1 star for the packaging. The top of the deodorant was difficult to remove. I had to take a razor blade and scrape away the little ridges to allow the top to slide on and off easily. In addition the edges of the deodorant stick were very sharp! It actually bruised my underarm. I used the razor blade to try to smooth the edges but only made it worse. I had to use a very hot handle of an Xacto knife to smooth out the edge. I will buy this deodorant again because it did work for me, but I will have to look out to see if all the containers have the same (what I would call) defects.

Another reviewer claimed the deodorant can last up to three days without reapplication. I can confirm this. Even after a three hour bike ride I didn't have strong underarm odor. I also have not noticed that it leaves marks on clothes (and I exclusively wear dark colors). I've been looking for a quality natural deodorant since Alaffia stopped making their coco-care charcoal ones. I didn't get the charcoal one of Native, however, as I was scared it would be too perfumey. But I can say that the lavender and rose one smells exactly like lavender essential oil with a hint of rose essential oil and nothing more. It's not a fake cloying floral smell. But the (natural) smell does linger, which I like. Another reviewer complained that it smelled astringent and like pinesol, but I reckon they've never actually smelled real lavender essential oil and expected the awful fake smell. I'm now less scared to try the other scents.

Quick Take: This deodorant smells really good and does a great job keeping odor away without being overwhelming. Scent: The scent is fresh and pleasant — noticeable in a good way, but not overpowering. It smells clean and lasts throughout the day. Performance: It applies easily and keeps me feeling fresh. I didn’t experience irritation, and it held up well for everyday wear. Bottom Line: If you’re looking for a deodorant that smells great and works reliably, this is a solid choice. I’d definitely repurchase.

I really love the scent of this deodorant and the fact that it lasts all day. Unfortunately, you don't get very much for the price and while the first one I got was just like glide on deodorant, this last one is like lotion. It is almost unusable because it just smears all over the top of the container making a huge mess and wasting a bunch. I had to start barely touching my skin with it or too much would spread out of the container. It might be because it is winter here and the product froze beforw I realized the package arrived, but still; it shouldn't to that. Frustrating! I won't be buying this again until they fix the formula, offer a bigger size for the same price, and until Spring (so there isn't a rick of it freezing again). I'm sad it has these issues because I really like it otherwise.

Disclaimer: I'm in australia and Native is not stocked here. I bought this from amazon US and had it shipped to a package forwarding company in the US who then forwarded it to me. It costs a fortune to buy this way but I was keen to try this. Despite the high cost, I'm glad I bought this because it's AMAZING. (I have since checked and it looks like I can get it shipped directly to me in australia which I will do next time. For this purchase I was buying lots of things that could only be shipped to US locations so I just had everything shipped to the forwarding company) Review: The scent is absolutely delicious. I had high hopes based on the product name being buttercream and french vanilla, and I am so pleasantly surprised they were met. My goal is to smell like a bakery so I exclusively seek scented products in that realm. (vanilla, caramel, candy, syrup, maple, sugar, buttercream, etc) This product is definitely a win. It's hard to find hygiene products that have those scents in australia. But I'm glad this is available even if it's not sold here officially. It genuinely smells like vanilla and buttercream. It's like a creme brulee; soft warm vanilla custard gooey goodness. With a creamy buttery vanilla whipped buttercream piped on top. OMG it's the best smelling product in my entire hygiene cupboard. And I'm very particular about this so that is quite an achievement! The texture is thick and creamy the way a balm should be. It's solid and firm in the container but when you wipe it onto your skin is applies nicely. Not too thick or streaky or weird. Perfectly, the way a lip balm glides across your skin in the perfect thickness. It soaked into my skin quickly enough that I wasn't worried about putting clothes on top and getting the product on the fabric. I applied it after my morning shower, and a few hours later I tried to smell it again but couldn't. I smelled nothing. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to keep smelling the vanilla buttercreamness, but to be fair it's extremely hot in australia right now so I was probably sweating a lot. I couldn't smell body odour though so that's a win to me. By the end of the day I did feel a little wet in my underarm area but again, it's extremely hot here so this isn't a surprise. The next time I tried it, I tried it at midnight after an evening shower. When I woke up the next day I could still smell the buttercream vanillaness of it. So I think scent longevity depends on how much you sweat or how much the product gets rubbed away by clothing as you move throughout the day. And I wasn't wet like the day before. I obviously didn't sweat a lot during the night so the product had the chance to perform really well and it kept me smelling sweet and kept me dry. Because of how much I paid for this I don't want to use it every day and let it run out quickly. But it's 100% going to be a permanent addition to my life, as long as they keep making it. All in all this is amazing and I will buy it again, but hopefully I'll find a cheaper way next time lol I'd really love it if Native sarted being stocked in australia! I'd love to try their shampoos and conditioners next.
