I ordered this for a custom phone mount I was building. Works exactly as expected. It connects two 1” (25mm) balls, and secures tightly.

Cheaper than the brand name one. But works just the same.

I have genuine Ram products and this is the first time I purchased an alternative ball mount product. I did this because it was significantly cheaper and it was to mount things inside a vehicle so less chance of breakage or loss if it breaks.I am pleasantly surprised how good it is. It gets a thumbs up from me as it serves the purpose.

Ram Mounts is well known for its broad line of mounting hardware.Arkon is also well known for a different kind of mounting hardware, but is invading Ram Mounts’ space with this line.This product costs substantially less than its Ram Mounts variant.The designs are different, but serve the same purpose. My Ram Mounts version has a smooth finish, the Arkon is matte.Arkon’s line seems more complete with regard to photographers and videographers.I’m impressed so far. As I use it more, I’ll revise this review is my opinion changes.Jerry
