Friendly Chemistry Annotated Solutions Manual

I'm so glad that I got this annotated solutions book! The teacher book has the numerical answers to the equations, but that's it. This shows how the equations are solved, which made it way easier to explain them to my son (since I've never actually taken chemistry!). Overall, we appreciated the whole Friendly Chemistry course (just be careful about buying the student book on Amazon - ours had pages torn out and some of the answers written in, none of which was disclosed to us in the listing).

Good curriculum

Love this book! I use it as a supplement in my Chemistry class! Makes it very hands on and easy to understand. Great find!

Our homeschool co-op requires both Friendly Chemistry and Friendly Biology, and we endured both for two years and wouldn't recommend it. To begin with the presentation is abysmal. The Friendly Chemistry book, is essentially a published word document without color, no illustrations or helpful diagrams. The chapters, though decently written, use simple problems to guide the students through the concept along wth basic mathematics and procedures for balancing equations and stoichiometry. Then, the homework accelerates beyond the basics by the second question. To be clear. The "Friendly" sciences are geared to the homeschooling community and that's fine. However, there are better resources available that, though "secular" will prove better at teaching chemistry and helping kids enjoy science. I absolutely enjoyed chemistry in college, my son however, now hates it after sitting though a semester using this book. Don't give in to the homeschooling culture and use this curriculum with your students. There are better options, than this.Don't do it.Mike E
