EOTECHOPMOD EXPS2-2 Holographic Reflex Red Dot Sight, 68 MOA Ring and 2MOA EXPS2-2 OP-KIT2023

Used it twice and broke. Maybe good for airsoft but cannot handle recoil from a rifle

I own four EOTech EXPS2-2 sights including this one. I'm a very big fan of the fast-acquisition 65 MOA / 2 dot reticle. Extraordinarily fast to use up close. I also have an Aimpoint Pro. I much prefer the open field of view on the EOTech to the "dot-in-a-tube" field of view of the Aimpoint and similar sights. I have a flip-up magnifier on one of the EOTechs, which works very well when you need 3X for longer shots. The OPMOD model is identical to the current production EOTech EXPS2-2. Optics Planet originally had an exclusive on the QD mount and 33ft depth rating, but that exclusive had passed. The only significant difference now is that the OPMOD model carries a lifetime Optics Planet warranty in addition to the two year EOTech warranty.I should mention here, for those who haven't heard, EOTech is currently dealing with a huge PR problem. In November 2015 they settled a lawsuit with the DOD for $28M over their failure to disclose a "temperature drift" issue on their sights. They've admitted that their aim point can drift as much a 6 MOA at temperature extremes. It turns out that all electronic holographic sights exhibit aim point drift at temperature extremes. Trijicon has also admitted temperature drift, though it does seem somewhat less than EOTech. The lawsuit was over failure to disclose the problem, not the problem itself. It seems like the Marines and USSOCOM are still buying them, primarily because there's currently no substitute,So be forewarned, Do your research. If you shoot at very hot or very cold extremes (-30F to 140F), you should run tests at those extremes to know how to compensate, or use a conventional optic. EOTech is currently offering customers a full refund, upon request, on any holographic sight. For my part, I'm keeping mine, and I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Not an OPMOD, just received normal Eotech. Dissapointing. Works fine though.

QUALITYI bought this optic to mount on my new AR15 build, and wanted to make sure I didn't skimp on quality. Quality is exactly what you get on an EoTech, and this model is no exception. The hood is made of a heavy duty metal that gives you confidence that it will hold up against any dings and bumps. I like that the adjuster screws are recessed to avoid any accidental changes. The mount is also extremely sturdy and when screwed tight, doesn't not move at all.SMALL FOOTPRINTI love the compact footprint that this optic leaves on the rail. It allows me to run a magnifier, and leave tons of room for other accessories, if and when necessary.I'm building an AR pistol with plans on placing this optic on there, which will be great with a shortened barrel and rail space.BRIGHT RETICLEThe reticle is sharp and bright even in daylight, and is very easy to adjust, turn on, and turn off. I still haven't replaced the battery, and I've had it for quite some time.ON THE FENCE?The price is higher than other holographic optics in the market, but the age old saying applies here: "you get what you pay for". This optic will be an investment that will give you years of accurate and precise results. If you can squeeze this into your budget, it will enhance your build.

Have seen this product at my work its a Chinese knockoff of an eotech buyer beware you have been warned

I want to start off by saying whoever says this is a knockoff EOTech doesn't know what they're talking about. It is just one for Optics Planet and they don't sell fake EOTechs. Takes only a handful of rounds to zero in at 100yrds and after that you can't miss! Highly recommend anything EOTech. Plus I got it in less then 24hrs with Amazon Prime!

Opticsplanet no longer carries their limited edition OPMOD version of the Eotech EXPS2 so they are now very scarce. I couldn't even find a new one on Ebay. Leave it to Amazon to save the day. They had four brand new EXPS2-2's for sale. I bought one of them. Great optic, quality manufacturing and a very good price at $539.
