very much like the OREI adapter but with potential connection issues
This is a preliminary review of the Ceptics GP3-9 3 Outlet Travel Adapter Plug Type E/F. It is preliminary in the sense that I have received the adapter, inserted plugs into the ports/receptacles, and noted that there are possibly connection issues. I have not yet had the opportunity to use the plug in a 220v European outlet. I plan to update this review later in the summer after doing so. At that time I will also compare the performance of this Ceptics adapter to the similar OREI Grounded Universal 2 in 1 Schuko E/F Plug Adapter, which I have also purchased.I tried fitting a variety of United States plugs (Type A and B) into the various ports/receptacles/sockets on each device (the Ceptics has 3 ports, 2 grounded and 1 ungrounded, the OREI has 2 ports, one of each). There is some resistence/tension when inserting a plug into a receptacle, and tension that holds the plug in place after insertion. I found that these tensions vary enormously not only between the two adapters, but between each individual port/receptacle on one adapter, and also vary with every plug tested. In general, the OREI adapter was more difficult to insert the plugs into. At times it seemed as if the force required for insertion into the top port would break the adapter. In conjunction with that, the OREI device also held onto the inserted plugs much more firmly. Not TOO firmly. This was an appropriate, albeit snug, fit. The ports on the Ceptics plug, tended to be looser. Easier both to insert and to pull out. Of the three ports, the top ungrounded port resisted and grabbed the plug quite firmly, very much like the OREI adapter. The bottom Ceptics port held onto the plug moderately well. I suspect some loose plugs and moderately heavy devices will, aided by gravity, come loose from, and even fall out of, the bottom port. Plugs inserted into the front facing port fit loosely. How loosely? A plug that fit as described into the top and bottom port would barely stay in the front port. A slight movement of the cord or one finger lightly touching the top of the plug were enough to cause the plug to come out 1/8" and drop 15 degrees. Slightly more pressure doubled the space and drop. I tried several plugs and, though different, none seemed completely satisfactory. The cylindrical adapter for an HP Touchpad seemed to fit the best. The HP adapters' prongs seemed to hold into the port slightly better, and the adapters bulk and shape seemed partially supported by and resting against the adapters face. Still, not very reassuring. Update later in the same day: I found an ancient adapter in my garage, (U.S, Type B socket/port on the front face, U.S. Type A plug/prongs on the back face, i.e. no ground prong) that we used to use when grounded plugs on appliances first became standard, and most outlets could not accommodate them. My devices fit snugly enough into the front face of this 2 to 3 prong adapter, and it fits snugly enough into the front/outlet face of the Ceptics Adapter. This may be adequate to meet my immediate needs.

Well It Works...
I had a one week trip to Australia and needed some way to charge my electronics while I was there. This plug only changes the plug type. It will not change anything such as voltage or frequency and it's up to you to check whether or not your charger will work. To find this look at your charger and see if it has a voltage range on it (something like 100-240 V and 50/60 Hz). If your device does say this it will work with this adapter. Despite being able to cope with the voltage, my iPhone charger got quite warm while charging my phone even up to about 50%. This may change if you use more than one of the three available plugs. You can plug in two grounded plugs and one non grounded (from various regions). The main issue I have with this adapter is quality. After a week the blue lettering on the sides had begun to wear off and smear. Also, the plug leads (metal parts) had started to bend with minimal force from being moved around. This adapter will work fairly well for most things, as long as you don't need to use it for an extended amount of time.

Very handy
On our recent cruise, only outlets near our bed were used to power the bedside lamps and were European type. I used these adaptors to provide power to our U.S. type phone chargers while also giving us a place to plug in the lampsIt was very difficult to insert plugs into some of the adaptor's outlets, but extremely firm pressure while slightly rocking the plug did the trick.

It worked fine for iPhones and iPads
I bought this so I could keep devices charged while in Switzerland. It worked fine for iPhones and iPads, using the 2 prong block power that you then plug the USB to lightning cable, and on my Kindle. However, when I tried to plug my Macbook powersupply into it, the Mac wouldn't charge -- instead of a solid Green light showing charged, or a solid amber showing charging, it showed a flashing green light. When I returned home I took it all to the Apple Genius bar and it turned out that the power supply needed to be replaced -- under warrantee, luckily. I can't be sure that the adapter caused the power supply to fail, but I did notice that the Hot and Neutral line on the Travel Adapter are reversed from the standard 3 pin North American connector. This is not an issue with many electronic devices. Again, I cannot be sure the device had anything to do with my power supply failing, in fact, the Genus Bar tech said that I should use a UPS because they are sensitive to over power and power fluctuations. So I am not blaming the Travel Adapter. But the Hot / Neutral reversal does bother me.

Exceptional for the Price, More Than Enough Ports
Considering the price for the product, I believe it was worth the price. Product arrived in a neat little package, and looks exactly as described in the pictures. I'm using it as a daily driver at my home, and it works as it should. Item feels solid. However, there are few things I should probably mention that someone would find useful. When I connected in a UK-Type plug, it was kind of hard to connect the first time. Had to push in with some effort to properly connect it. Same scenario happened when connecting a Australia-Type plug. No problems occurred when connecting Type B plugs at all.All concerns aside, item works fine, and looks appealing too. Hence I'm providing a five-star rating overall.
