Nothin’ fishy here !!
Terrific stuff - I’ll repeat what others have said as far as these being more like sardines than anchovies - much more . Delish and good for ya too!! These have slid right into my sardines/tuna in olive oil / salmon routine - as a pescatarian they’re a good and tasty and healthy fit . Get ‘em again and again ? Certainly !!

Falls flat, not authentic and low value
These are really poor quality white anchovies. They taste fine but it’s not like a true, high end, soft and oily white fish. They’re more grey brown and fall apart. Nothing like the real thing. Absolutely do not waste your money.

Just a Mild Sardine - quite good
I just made my first order of these to see what they were like - and as others have repeatedly said, they are NOT what most people think of as "anchovies" (either the salty American ones or the pickled Spanish ones). These are simply canned fish that are slightly smaller than sardines from the same company, and they have a slightly milder flavor. Mine are reasonably fresh (canned in 2018, and marked best by 2022), and they are certainly better than just about any of the canned fish I have bought in the local supermarkets. I will reiterate that the flavor is very mild, both for the fish and the EVOO they are packed in. I actually prefer the slightly stronger flavor of sardines. If I buy these again, I might try the ones packed in water and sea salt, since I think the salt might improve them.

Pleasantly Surprised by the Flavor and Size!
I recently tried Wild Planet White Anchovies and was pleasantly surprised by both their size and taste. **Size and Appearance:** When I first opened the can, I was surprised to find that these anchovies are sardine-sized. I was expecting the smaller, more traditional anchovy size, but the larger size actually made them more versatile in my cooking. Excellent for sardine sandwiches! **Taste and Texture:** The flavor is where these anchovies really shine. They have a lighter, milder taste compared to regular sardines, making them a great option for those who might find sardines too strong. The texture is firm yet tender, and they are packed in olive oil, which adds a nice richness without overpowering their natural flavor. **Versatility:** I've used them in salads, pasta dishes, and even on toast. Their lighter flavor means they blend well with other ingredients without being too dominant. They’ve added a delightful umami boost to everything I’ve tried them in. **Packaging:** The can is easy to open. The oil they are packed in is also of good quality, adding to the overall taste experience. **Overall:** I highly recommend Wild Planet White Anchovies for anyone looking to try a milder, more versatile fish. The unexpected size was a surprise, but their delicious, lighter flavor more than makes up for it. I will definitely be buying these again!

I prefer flat anchovies
Okay. These are whole anchovies. A bit dry. Not flat like used on a pizza. Not much taste.

Delicious!!!
These are fabulous! Also, they ARE anchovies, but folks are getting them confused with the salted anchovy fillets that are used on caesar salads and pizzas. Some reviewers have commented that these are sardines - they do look like tinned sardines, but sardines are much larger. These anchovies are packed in water and are wonderful on top of a salad or in a sandwich. High in protein too! Yum!
