Nice affordable water heater
So far, no complaints with this water heater. I replaced a much more expensive unit with this one. The previous unit had the same voltage and breaker requirements, as well as similar water connections, so instillation for me was fairly simple. Performance wise, the Ecotouch heater does great, especially in my house where it typically only runs one fixture or appliance at a time. I have not experienced any cold shots of water while operating like my old water heater used to. Design wise, I like how this unit is set up, it uses a continuous metal water line with the heating element surrounding the water line. All previous on demand water heaters that I've used have had small reservoirs with the heating element submerged within the reservoirs. The Ecotouch design seem less likely to foul up with minerals in my opinion, but time will tell. Very pleased with this water heater so far, wish I'd tried this one first.

Does the job
Updating my rating to 4 stars. Customer support was very responsive and sent me a new unit. They sent an EcoTouch 8kW which is more appropriate for my under kitchen sink application. It is smaller, heats/responds faster, and turns itself on after a power loss. Overall I am much happier with the 8kW for my use.Anyone wanting to get hot water to a remote kitchen sink I suggest the 8KW even though the 9KW is same price.================Install was easy enough. Usually works but often the temp will not rise to the set temperature. I set mine to 120F, and often it will only get to 108 as shown on the display. Turn it off and on again sometimes fixes it, but several times I have turn off the breaker to reset. This is a hassle to crawl under my kitchen cabinet or go out to garage to reset. If you lose power it does not turn back on, must reach under the cabinet to turn it back on.Would not purchase this brand again, willing to pay more for higher quality.

Looks nice, installs easily. If only it could heat…
Installed according to instructions, running on a 30A 240V circuit, this thing can’t even keep up with one sink. It will only heat if flow is less than 0.6 gpm, but according to their chart, at my inlet temp it should be able to heat at 1 gpm.And that’s not all. If this unit loses power, it does not return to the previous power state when power is reapplied. So, for example, if your power “blinks” during a storm, you now have no hot water until you manually turn this heater back on. Mount it in an easy-to-reach spot, or you’ll be sorry.Sure enough, you really do get what you pay for.

Very nice quality works great! I would buy again.
I first was skeptical of the price versus the quality that would end up at my door. They shipped it quickly and I was amazed at the actual size, quality and weight. The unit was very easy to install I just caution anyone looking to buy one to really think on placement. The electric wire is very expensive and you have to run 2 sets of it, I used 6-2 romex x 2 and then had to buy 2- 40amp 220 breakers. Depending on how far from your breaker box is from the unit it may cost you more in wire than the unit itself. Installing the hanger brackets needs to be precise measurement it calls for in the install directions, being off by an 1/8 inch doesn't let it sit tight on the wall. At this time it has been 3 days since I installed it and it works great, very easy to set the temp. I personally like seeing the actual flow rate displayed when it calls for hot water. It brings the water temp up quickly and it holds it at that temp consistently. I understand that the water temp output will be directly affected to the water temp input so we will wait and see what the winter has in store for us but I feel confident that I chose the correct size and proper placement. At this point in time I am very pleased that I purchased this unit and I would recommend it to anyone skeptical on buying one. Just remember buying the proper unit for your area and household size does make a difference. I also needed to contact Ecotouch after I placed my order and they responded quickly and politely.

9kw tankless water heater
I bought this for our 3 season cottage. For the longest time we had an electric 40 gallon hot waterheater, which had to be drained at the end of the season. After many years, we decided to install oneof these tankless heaters. Only problem was that the hot water tank operated on a 30 amp breaker andthis unit required a 45 amp breaker. Turns out that our service there was minimal. I told the electrician thatif the unit was not cranked to capacity it wouldn't draw 45 amps. So, we gave it a try. It works BUT I had tocalibrate the flow of water. It doesn't come gushing out, but steady enough to use for washing, cleaning, showering etc. Time will tell the outcome, but the cost wasn't much (I know people that spend more on lotterytickets and lose a lot more than they win) so, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it
