Vtech has always been a trusted brand for me. I worked for Radio Shack in the mid-90s and even their phones were based on VTech units. Anyway, I have had VOIP in my home for years and had cordless phones and at least 3 remote handsets all over the house. Recently when upgrading my VOIP provider, I realized that I could turn our cell phones into extensions of our home number and would no longer need the cordless units - plus batteries were depleting faster than I could use the cordless phones. Anyway, now the CD1113 hangs on my wall, and can be used to make calls, or "buzz" people into my building as we have a phone-based entry system. I don't worry about it, but it looks and sounds good when I need it to; even the batteries required for the CID display have lasted a long time.

Works. Does require batteries contrary to what the listing indicated when the phone was purchased. Note the cord is NOT DETACHABLE. If you want a longer cord this isn’t the phone for you.

This is a great fix for any family that wants a handheld phone in the home. My toddler loves answering the phone and it brings back the innocence of home phones. The ring is not too loud which I love and it is very easy to set up.

Really disappointed with this device, the screen is hard to read, you need AAA batteries and the worst thing is that the device doesn't ring when you receive a call, I requested technical support with no response at the time.

For those needing a simple phone for desk or wall, this is it. Nothing fancy. Caller ID is a plus. Ringer is loud.

The ringtone is loud enough. It reminds me old phones but fits nicely in the space

The batteries are needed to keep your call list in the menu. If the batteries run out before you change them, you've lost your list, and will have to enter your numbers in again. The quality of the call display isn't very good, and there isn't any light from the display window to help. Call quality is ok. I will be purchasing a better phone in the future.

This phone will work even when the is a power outage.

Phone works fine, but there's a couple things to note. 1) the phone line cord that connects to the wall plug is hardwired into the phone and is only maybe 4ft long. You can not switch it out for a different cable. This phone must be placed a very short distance from the phone jack. 2) this phone is designed to be hung on the wall. The switch that hangs up the line is on the receiver and not the cradle. The receiver doesn't fit snugly into the cradle when the phone is flat on the counter. It slides up a bit which releases the button that hangs up the phone. It's enough to make me worry the phone can be off the hook without looking like it. If it's hanging on the wall this isn't an issue, only if sitting flat on a table.
