Salt Water Sandals by Hoy Shoe The Original Sandal

Very excited to find this classic style available on Amazon. As kids, my daughters wore these sandals for years. Of course each daughter went through MANY pairs, but the style worked for school, the park, church literally ANY occasion. My daughters are now 39, 41 and 43! I recently purchased a pair for my not quite 4 year old granddaughter and the classic style is as stylish as ever. Can’t wait to watch her grow up wearing Saltwater sandals just like her mom wore.😉

I love, love, love these sandals! I am normally an 8 or 8.5 and I ordered the 6 Big Kid size in tan. I’m glad I got the 6 because the 7 would of had too much extra room off the ends. The 6 was perfect and although it’s snug at first, if you follow the instructions on the box and stretch them out like you are supposed to, they will be fine! Mine came in the authentic box. This is real y’all and I got mine literally the day after ordering.

My daughter has worn saltwater sandals every summer of her life since she could walk. The style we have bought in the past is the toddler/little kid style with 2 adjustable straps (toe strap adjusts too) and the thicker footbed. Good Points for that style: They were cute, durable and versatile. They can easily be worn with a dress and hold up well to running around beaches, pools, in the rain etc. Basically perfect! However, now that she is 9, she has graduated up to fitting into the big kid/adult style and we tried this style with the thinner soles and non-adjustable toe strap. My rating is for this particular style. Compared to the style we previously bought, these are not the same shoe at all and I will have to return them! BAD POINT: This is a matter of my daughter's foot type- if you have a narrow foot, the toe section is considerably wider. The heel fits her perfectly, but there is a lot of visible space all around the front of her foot. I compared this to a shoe that is the exact same size, in the former style (toddler/little kid) we bought, and the extra toe room is unique to this style. This might be a better fit for some kids, but for her doesn't work! REALLY BAD POINT: I don't even need to post a pic because if you just study the image Amazon provides closely you can see what I am talking about- the straps of the shoe connect to the shoe on the *top* of the footbed and run directly underneath the innersole. They appear to be glued and sewn in place with the innersole. The leather straps extend beyond the stitching on the sides toward the middle of the shoe and create significant bumps on the bottom of the shoe underneath the innersole that can be felt as you walk. My daughter tried these on for about 5 seconds and declared she couldn't walk in these as the bottoms felt too bumpy. The bumps are everywhere the straps connect, so are in 8 different places on the shoe and are high enough to be visible to eye. I am sure this would be annoying to many kids. It's a very bad design flaw.

Although some reviews question authenticity, the pair I received appear legit. Initially, I was skeptical because they came in a generic cardboard box instead of the salt water box. There was a message stamped on the box interior that stated the original box was damaged. A little disappointing for full price but the sandals looked fine. Also, I did notice the size stamp on the back strap of the new pair is different from the stamp on a tan pair I've had for several years (both pairs pictured). However, I verified the new stamp with the leather shield is consistent with the official salt water website stock sandal photos.Regarding fit, it has been a few years since I purchased a pair but I thought I remembered they ran slightly small or true to size. Maybe it's just me but this pair was larger than expected on my daughter. We're going to keep it because I know her foot will grow...but what should have been her size was at least 1 size too big My only other mention is the buckle clasps are stiff, which made it difficult for my 9 year old to do them up and take them off. I'm sure they will loosen after several wears.Overall, I love these sandals and will continue to recommend them to others. But for the price, they really should create better packaging so people don't immediately question authenticity.

I love salt water sandals but I’m always skeptical ordering them off of Amazon versus going to the store and buying them. I ordered black in size 4 bigkids. Came perfect! There always stiff when you get them so just make sure you stretch them out before wearing!

These sandals fit well abd were wearable right out of the box. They're classics and look great. The sizing is the strangest thing I've ever seen, but the big girls 6 was just right for my Canadian size 8 foot. (Well, just a bit big because I'm actually a 7.5, but who the heck carries that size anymore? I'd have to order a big girls 5.5, which I don't believe is an option.) All good, I usually wear 8s anyway and these fit just fine. Make me want to roll up my pants and go clam digging, but that's not really a pastime here on the northern shores of Lake Ontario. 😂

I’m a size 9.5 US. Based on all the reviews i’ve read and company’s recommendations I ordered size 8 big kid (10US). TOO SMALL. I’m exchanging for the next size up which is said to fit size 11! That’s just insanely unpredictable sizing.

Perfect sandel for my daughter. Love that they are waterproof and stylish at the same time :)

I like my sandals ! Really comfortable and I can wear them in water! Perfect to go to the beach!
