12/4/20First, the reason I deducted a star is due to the packaging. For the rifle, it has to be folded to fit in the packaging, which left a crease on one corner of the wrap. I wasn't able to completely get the crease out, though it isn't really that noticeable.I bought this to wrap a 15 year old Mossberg 30-06 that had been sitting in the back of my safe. I decided to gift it to my son. I wanted to upgrade the look, but didn't want to send it off to be coated. Not much you can do with a grey stock. Wrapping it seemed like the cheapest and best choice. . I disassembled the rifle, and had it wrapped in about an hour. Aside from the crease, and a few very small wrinkles, it looks fantastic. I used heat, and took my time with it. I'm not a pro installer of vinyl, however do have some minimal experience. I used a heat gun to soften the material, and it stretched wonderfully. Look forward to wrapping one of my pistols next... Would recommend in any case!!!

Vinyl has survived two hunting seasons with zero color loss, defects, or peeling! Third time purchasing this brand and will continue to do so until they put me in the dirt!

I use this camo wrap for my Ruger American Rifle chambered in 30-06. It's a little bit of a pain to put on and take some time you really want to workout the air that gets trapped when you start rapping it. Be sure to check out their instructional videos on how to apply. I was able to do it with a blow dryer and a few curse words. Some stocks are obviously going to be easier than others. I've put 100 rounds through the gun with the wrap on and so far there's been no warping of the wrap. As a side note it does tend to make your gun a little slippery. I could also see that if you drag this through the woods it could potentially get scraped off but I haven't had that happen yet. I think it's a relatively good alternative for those that don't want to spray paint their gun.

Horrible to install even with videos. Make sure you have a heat gun or torch. Also no room for error at all. You will end up patching and piecing some areas together, however looks great

Product is good quality. The application of it is not for the impatient, however, and if you're expecting it to be flawless, you're going to be disappointed. Unless you've done this before a few times and/or your rifle stock is fairly featureless with no sharp angles, you're going to have some imperfections. My 30-06 had a couple of tough angles on it and the wrap just couldn't be stretched around them without some wrinkles. Heat gun helped but couldn't smooth all of them out. The first time I've tried to wrap it too so I had to learn on the fly. Still.... it looks pretty good.... from a distance. Make sure you're rifle is super clean (I used a degreaser) and don't overheat the wrap with your hot air gun (or hairdryer). I'm giving GunSkins 4 stars for the quality of the wrap. Make sure you have realistic expectations...

This gun skin is the best! Wasn't too sure of putting this on my .243, but after some research decided to give it a try. Glad I did. You have to be very patient while applying the gun skin. There were some areas that were harder to apply. It is a lengthy process, but if you follow the directions exactly and take your time, you will not be disappointed. Love the way it looks! Would very highly recommend this product.

I'm sure it's easier to apply when the pieces are custom cut, and it does not cover any rifle. I bought this for an LR308 and did not have enough to finish. I had to order an AR handguard kit to complete the install. And good luck covering these larger magazines. As mentioned in the manufacturers videos, make sure you have fresh, sharp blades.

Not liking the look of black synthetic stocks I was looking for something to personalize my new hunting rifle. Skeptically I pulled the trigger on this but was pleasantly surprised when I began the installation and it turned out awesome! Not the easiest install at first and initially I thought I for sure had been scammed...... But with a simple exacto knife and my wife’s blow dryer I was able to heat it enough and easily stretch it where I needed to. Heat is the key and by following the YouTube tutorials from gunskins it turned out perfect! My first install took about 3 hours total and I couldn’t be happier! Will buy another pattern for next gun!

Looks cool when finished My daughter loves it. A little bit of a pain to install for a first try. Not bad when you get the hang of it.
