My young men are using it while on construction jobsite to replenish calories and keep them going. They said it was filling, wholesome ingredients, easy prep and tasted fantastic!

This stuff is fantastic. Like mom's. You're not surviving with this, you're eating GOOOOD! This is one of my 2 favorites from PEAK, the other is their biscuits & gravy. Man oh man, it is surprising how great these are, legit great meals, well seasoned, they are most definitely not 'eat to survive' or 'if I have to' kind of food like you might think.

We are attending Burning Man on the playa in Reno. You must bring all your supplies including food and water. We ordered this item to try after reading the reviews. I have to say it was pretty good. However I do agree you need to let stand longer than 15 minutes and a bit more water added in my opinion. I felt it was a bit salty tasting but otherwise impressed with the taste and texture.

The portion size is great compared to other meals at this price. The flavor is amazing and theyre soo simple to prepare.The only bad thing is the noodles take longer than 10 minutes to rehydrate. The beef also takes quite a bit to rehydrate fully but even then this is a winner.

Our backpacking trips are usually a week long or longer, and while Mountain House brand has gotten us through many years of backpacking meals at a decent cost, we've begun adding meals from other brands now that it seems there is a recent proliferation of freeze dried meal makers out there. We added a few Peak meals into the mix on our latest outing and we were knocked out by the improved taste and texture of Peaks stroganoff over Mountain Houses. Will definitely continue to add these into our backpacking meal rotation.

I would be pissed if I was in an adventure and opened it to eat. I had to add salt to be able to enjoy it a bit. Mountain House much better.

Update a year later. The Beef Stroganoff is the worst taste I've ever tasted. It is not even close to Beef Stroganoff or any meal at all. I could not finish eating it after adding my own peas and corn, it still didn't help this awful tasting. However, the Mac and cheese was very nice. This was fast delivered by UPS. courier service quickly! I ordered on Nov. 28, 2022, and it came on Dec. 2, 2022. Arrived days earlier than UPS posted. I'm keeping the 4 packs of Beef Stroganoff and 4 packs of Chili Mac stored away in the small box the 8 packs came in. I won't be taste-testing them until I need to use them in years to come when food is expensive to buy or an emergency food ration era comes. The date of packaging 2017- to expiry date is August 2027. So they are selling us their oldest packaging first.

Lightweight of course. Tastes great and plenty of food enough for two or one really hungry.

Soggy, tasteless, completely under seasoned.
