Wow! Surpassed My Expectations
I have used Cascade dishwasher detergent for as long as I can remember - since that is what I grew up with and knew. Cascade is effective and it is reliable. However, the scent of Cascade is disgusting! I have used powders, liquids and gel pods (pods for the past 6 years or so) and regardless of the scent I chose, my dishes would all have a very strong, nauseating odor and subsequent taste after using the pods. It got to the point that I couldn't even use my cutting boards since the taste and odor transferred to our foods. I won't even get into the fact that some of the pods would stick together in the package and rip then leak. Or sometimes the gel pack would stick to the tray or hide at botttom of washer instead of dissolve, meaning I had to fish it out, toss it, put a new one in and run the washer again. Grrrr. When we moved to our new home which is on well water, my dishwasher and dishes began to also take on a very unpleasant, kind of "dirty" smell after using the Cascade pods. I began doing a sink wash AFTER running the dishwasher, which is a complete pain on the rear, waste of time and waste of money/water. There are very few unscented or "free and clear" dishwasher pods on the market and my research kept leading me back to Seventh Generation. I didn't have high hopes for a mostly natural detergent pod, but gave it a whirl. Woo. Hoo! The pods are completely unscented and are a pure white powder. No gel or colors. I have used the pods three times in the three days since they arrived and I am a convert. Not sure how these little unassuming pods pack so much awesomeness, but regardless of how full the dishwasher is, what cycle I am running or what is inside the dishwasher, my dishes have come out spotless. No clouding or hazing. Zero scent or taste is left on my dishes. No weird smell leftover in the machine. These Seventh Generation Pods are fabulous. I didn't know I had it in me to get so revved up about a dishwasher detergent, but I truly am. I have already bought the liquid dish soap to replace my trusty Dawn as well as other Seventh Generation household cleaning products. I was that impressed. The true test of Seventh Generation products as a brand will come if /when I try their laundry detergent in place of my beloved Tide Free & Gentle (baby steps - haven't ventured there yet). While Seventh Generation is not 100% natural, it is a heck of a lot greener and less toxic than my former products and based on the power and performance of these pods, I will gladly continue to pay a bit more money. What a find!

Extrememly Satisfied
After being dissatisfied with my current dish washer detergent, I decided to give Seventh Generation's Automatic Dishwasher Detergent Concentrated Pacs a try. I am already a huge fan of their diapers, baby wipes, dish soap and all purpose cleaner so I was hopeful their dish pacs would deliver. And they did! I have used Finish powder, store brand and other dish washer detergents in the past and never felt like my dishes got very clean. Sanitized, yes. But clean, no. My plates and bowls seemed to always have a powdery film on them and my glasses looked cloudy. This product, however, leaves my dishes squeaky clean with NO film, NO cloudiness and even my silverware is shinier and comes out with less water spots. I am EXTREMELY pleased with this product and will NEVER go back to my old dish washer detergent. My dishes have honestly never been cleaner. I also love the convenience of the pre-measured pacs. Makes everything way easier. And I love that the detergent is dye & fragrance free, chlorine free, phosphate free and biodegradable. Better for the environment, better for my family and better for my dishes! Its a win, win, win! I HIGHLY recommend this product! And with the subscribe and save, you get an amazing value as well!

Completely scent free and leaves dishes sparkling clean
I’m allergic to perfumes. I used to use Cascade Lemon scent because it was the least offensive to me. But even that got strong. Plus, I wanted to use a more environmentally supportive detergent. This is wonderful - no scent and cleans everything like a dream. It’s getting hard to find in stores because so many of them are only carrying liquids or those gel packs. I won’t use either of those because the gel in them clings to dishes and glassware, in particular, leaving a taste behind that I hate. I get that it’s to provide sheeting action to prevent water spots, but I could always add that to my dishwasher if I cared. The other issue I have with gel packs is that, contrary to what manufacturers will tout, they do not completely dissolve. They usually break down into small enough bits that they’ll pass through home wastewater systems, but then they contribute to fatbergs in municipal systems (don’t even think about them with septic). Plus, they’re plastic! We have to stop putting microplastics into our water because they’re making their way back into our bodies and causing many health issues. So, I stick to powder and particularly to Seventh Generation. And when I’m done with the box? It’s paper and recyclable, so no plastic going back into the environment.

The powder is more environmentally friendly because it comes in a cardboard box rather than a plastic bag. It is enjoyable to use and it does a great job cleaning the dishes. You can vary the amount depending on how many dishes you have and how dirty they are - I like having this flexibility.

I have been using the detergent with the red ball or red liquid in the center for years. It does work well to remove grease and stuck on food but as you know, it kinda smells like chemicals once the wash and dry cycle has been completed. I also found the dishes weren't as dry as they could be, despite the use of a drying aid. I decided to give this a shot. There's no smells that I can detect and it does a great job with the heavily stained dishes. I haven't noticed much of a difference between this an the other brand I was using. I also found my dishes dried better. I'll continue to purchase this when I run out. This is a great product!

The soap smells fine, works well. It can leave a residue on the dishes at times. Nothing amazing but very good if you're looking to not spend a million dollars and be nice to the planet.

I've been using this product for two years now and that alone pretty much explains everything, I guess. Very satisfied and will keep on using it in the future. Thank you.
