So far so good. This band keeps hair in place and we've yet to experience the yellow plastic piece separate from the headband as others have noted. It fits well under his catcher's helmet, soaks up all the sweat and give the little bro "baseball drip"

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I ride mountain bikes in Florida, which means I’m usually soaked in sweat before I even hit the trail. The Halo Headband II has become one of those things I didn’t know I needed until I used it. Before this, I’d constantly have sweat dripping into my eyes—burning, blurring, and making every root and rock way more dangerous than it needed to be. This headband doesn’t completely stop the sweat (nothing will in Florida), but the little rubber strip actually *does* redirect it away from my eyes. It’s weirdly effective. It’s lightweight, fits under my helmet without being annoying, and doesn’t stretch out after a few washes. I’ve tried cheaper ones, but they either slide around or just become a soggy mess. This one stays put and dries fast. Honestly, it’s not some game-changing piece of gear—but it makes my rides way more comfortable, which makes a big difference when I’m out in 95-degree heat trying not to get eaten alive by bugs. When new I would probably give the Halo 4-5 stars. In general, it does a good job. But considering the price, I have issues with the lack of durability. The glue holding the silicon strip to the band does not hold up. I have been through probably six of these bands. At most I have had a band last 12-14 months before it comes apart. For the price, I think it should hold up longer. As far as how often I use it, I generally have two bands on hand and use each one twice per week when outdoor temp is above 60 degrees outside. So probably 9 months out of the year. I do throw it in the wash after using, but only in cold water and do NOT throw them in the dryer. Once the silicon strip comes off completely, then the remaining glue on the band makes it very uncomfortable to wear. In a pinch, I have found that it is usable it you turn it inside out. I use it for mountain biking, so I wear it under a helmet. For that purpose, I much prefer the narrow band vs. the wider option. The wider one can be uncomfortable wearing for any length of time under a helmet. I did find a work around by moving the band further up on my forehead. But I also had to loosen the helmet band for it to fit comfortably. An intact band does a good job for the first hour or so of a ride. But for a really long ride, 90+ minutes, I have been able to oversaturate the band to the point sweat finds its way around. But this is probably going to be true for any headband. Probably need to carry an extra one in the pack for this reason.

Perfect for cycling in the dark early morning hours! Fits comfortably under a bike helmet. Keeps the sweat out of my eyes for the whole ride.

Conditions: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mid-March night running, 30-45 minutes. (28-34 Celcius, 20% humidity). PRO: Does the job well of soaking and diverting sweat way from the face. You will see how effective it is once you take it off after the run. Remember to wash it immediately. CON: It is not very comfortable to wear.
