Q: i have used mesh adhesive to patch drywall cracks but struggle getting the mud feathered due to thickness of the mesh. is this tape thinner?

I wouldn't say it's thinner, but it is far easier to feather in. No chatter of the taping knife with this product. No bubbles. Just be sure to wear thin gloves when applying. You may get fiberglass splinters. Best tape I've ever used.

Yes, it's great for Crack repair . Be sure to wear gloves when using to avoid fiberglass splinters .

Q: Would regular nitrile gloves work to prevent the itching or is something more durable necessary?

Nitrile gloves exclude contact with irritating substances. If you have a reaction to substances contained in the product you purchased, then the use of protective equipment is recommended.
