Worked 3 times, now malfunctions and broken!!!
Unknown icon in lower left display now. Unit no longer works correctly. User manual is useless. Won't calibrate. Bought it in 2017, tested on my personal car just to familiarize with functionality and controls. I put it away with batteries removed, in dry storage.6/2023 I go used car shopping and paint meter (my second time using unit) the car I want. Meter works ok. But car has other issues. I pass.7/2023 I meter my 3rd car (that I bought). Afterwards I put away meter for long term storage again, I thought I heard unit beep in it's hard case, weird? I take unit out (it was off), turn it on, now there is an icon I don't recognize. Unit doesn't work correctly anymore. I only used it 3 times!!!Emailed twice, no response from customer service. Buyer BEWARE!!! I was very careful with unit both storing and using, kept it stored in my computer room in it's hard case. It's a $400 paper weight now.Would never do biz with this company again.

Easy, accurate and an absolute necessity!
I used to have a different paint meter about 10 years ago when I worked at a local Mercedes dealership. We used them daily on our used car trade-ins and lease return inspections. That one was good, but it did not measure aluminum panels. These days more and more cars are using aluminum. I no longer work there, but I enjoy detailing my own car and sometimes look for good deals to flip in the used car market. I was happy to have found that this paint meter is easy to use and works on both steel and aluminum. I also have the ability to calibrate it myself if necessary, but it just works out of the box. Whether you are a professional, or an enthusiast I recommend you get one! Even one painted fender discovery will pay for itself!

There's better out there
It's just okay, I don't like the style of plunger on it. Sometimes if you don't push down in a really fast motion it gives inaccurate readings. I'm wishing I would have spent the extra money for a Defelsko.

It is really worth it.
I am a professional detailer and have been using a cheaper paint thickness gauge for several years now. The paint meter really helps with higher end cars and more sophisticated jobs. It broke recently and I decided to upgrade as I have been using it more and more. The milPRO blows my old one out of the water. It is just so much more accurate. I can see exactly where the blends were made even on replaced panels. I showed this to the client a few times and they were so suprised how I was able to spot not just the replaced panels but the blends on the rest of the body.As a professional detailer that does work on exotics and other high-ends it is crucial to inspect the paint thoroughly. The last thing you want to do is take on a job and accidentally polish through the overcoat in search of perfect mirror finish paint.Overall, I highly recommend the milPRO to any professional!

Excellent meter. The easiest and best meter I've ever used. I use it daily as the used car sales director for a large multibrand german luxury dealership. It is easy to read and operate and seems very reliable and accurate.
