This is the first time I tried this brand. I mix it in our smoothies when my son was younger we mix it in his milk. The quality is very good. It has rich color. It doesn’t upset our stomach you do have to get used to the slight odor which is very light at first. I ordered the size because I use it every day.

Another great product that you can purchase using EBT. If you're health conscious, but you're also on a tight budget, and/or need to use Ebt, this is the go to for spirulina. It makes a great food coloring, and good for smoothies. I've bag last a very long time because you only use a teaspoon or less.

This is high quality USDA Organic spirulina from Starwest Botanicals, a trusted brand I've used for years. I am SO happy it's USDA organic! That's what I'm always looking for. I use it in green smoothies. The powder is in the bag ABOVE the zipseal line. As it is an extremely fine powder, you must open and use carefully. It does spread a very fine mist of powder when you open the bag, so 1st try tapping spirulina down, or that too will fly out of the bag. I open the mason jar I keep it in and use a measuring spoon. I leave the rest tightly sealed in the bag. So it does a little bit of flying but that's inherent in how fine it is. Highly recommended.

Product's appearance, taste and texture was as expected compared to other brands I've tried in the past. Brand is reputable and trusted. A bit perturbed that it is sourced from China. I try to avoid purchasing products that will be ingested from China for reasons that will be obvious to most. The Ecocert organic certifications allays some of the concern with regards to ingredients sourced from countries with less stellar food and safety standards. Overall a good product and would consider repurchasing as well as looking to try other brands in the future.

Taste sucks. I mix it with fruit. But it makes my skin so nice. I have energy. I haven’t made it in five days and I feel the difference which is what sparked the review. Drop the powder in on a DRY spoon. Do not - mix it with the spoon. It clumps bad and sticks to it like glue. Mix your fruit first. Have it blended and add the spirulina ensuring you don’t wet that spoon lol. I try to get the powder in the middle and fold the fruit mix over the spirulina so when I mix it - it does not poof everywhere lol. It works wonderfully as a mask too! Be prepared for a bright green face! Where old clothes when you do it! Works wonders on rashes too.

I purchased this item in March and didn't open it until several months later (after I ran out of my other spiralina). After I drank the first glass (which I mixed in pure water) I started to sweat profusely, my stomache was aching, and I felt super ill. There was nothing else I had eaten during that time period and I had to lay down for a couple hours sick and woke up feeling low on energy. The product is from China (which I had no idea otherwise would not have purchased this prodcut), and they don't have clean regulations on food there or proper inspections. I ordered it because it said 'organic' and I wanted clean food. It was the worst spiralina I ever tried, and didn't even taste rich like real spiralina. Sorry, this company has some other good products, so I have nothing against them. I just feel Startwest needs to take this product off the shelf. I can't even return it now because it's been over 30 days. I am writing this reveiw to both inform the public and hopes that Starwest will remove this product from the shelf. I had to throw it away in a plastic bag to ensure it's surely tainted contents would not leak into the ground. At least that is how I feel. I have no way to prove what's in it. Just made me sick.

This purchase was the first powdered spirulina I have tried. After being tired of taking 15-20 tablets a day; I thought mixing the powder into my smoothie would be a better solution. I was quite nervous about the taste, but I ordered it anyway figuring it had to be better than taking all of the pills. The first time I tried, I mixed it with ACV, baking soda, and honey and to my surprise; its taste was not unpleasant. I started mixing into my smoothies and the only way you know it is there is because of the dark green color that it creates. The color is much darker than spinach added, so you can't swap spinach on someone and expect them not to notice (like your child). Overall, I am extremely pleased with the quality and price of the organic version and I will be purchasing again.
