Q: Can you hear transmission through mic

Thank you for your question. The microphone itself will not output incoming transmissions, the built-in speaker on the main body of the MR F77B will output incoming transmission sounds.

Q: Does this unit have a speaker in the handheld part?

The MR F77B has a speaker in the main unit, however the hand microphone does not have a speaker. There is a connector for an external speaker.

Q: Does the hailer/pa have a listen mode or does it only broadcast on the loud speaker?

The MR F77 only broadcasts audio output to the PA speaker from microphone input when the microphone talk button is pressed after selecting the PA soft key, it does not broadcast incoming radio transmission audio to the PA speaker.
