Works well
The cable connectors are good and easy to plug in to my HD600 headset. Cable is heavier than the original one, and is the same length. They are the same length as the original when holding them side-by-side. The cable is round and heavier than the original flat cable. The original is not as sturdy and was damaged. I bought this unit because I wanted a 1/4-inch connector to go into my receiver without having to use an adapter. My receiver(s) have 1/4 inch plug sockets. I did not want to have to upsize from the tiny connectors commonly used for computers and small devices. Adapters make it stick out and subject to damage. I could always downsize the cable with an adapter for 1/8-inch devices is needed, but honestly, why would I use the HD600 with a laptop or something. Probably my Grado SR60 headset is more suitable for other purposes. The sound is excellent using the HD600 headphone with the new cables and my Sansui G-8000 receiver to play vinyl records on the Phillips 212 turntable with a good cartridge. Good kit, IMO. I don't expect the cable to have much influence on the sound, but the connectors are good quality, which is most important to me.

More Robust Than Original Cable
This is a genuine Sennheiser part and is more robust than the original cable. At 10 years old, my HD-600 original cable had developed a broken wire causing an intermittent loss of on the right channel. This particular product only has the 1/4 jack, which is fine for my use. If you need the 1/8" jack also, Amazon stocks that Sennheiser cable at about $15 more.

Excellent option for 3rd party replacement cable (Sennheiser 660S)
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I was pretty skeptical at first to buy a 3rd party cable after my OEM stopped functioning, but this has surpassed my expectations to say the least. Works perfect for my Sennheiser 660S headphones. Appears to be identical and haven't had any issues in almost a year since purchasing. Value for money: Considering the OEM was over $100, this was a super cheap option to at least try and see if it worked. So far so good after almost a year. Highly recommend

A Good Replacement Cable for the HD600's
This Sennheiser cable fit my HD600 perfectly and eliminated the channel cut out that I was experiencing from the cables that originally came with the headphones. There are several differences between the original cable and the new cable. First the new cable is a couple of feet shorter. For me, that was positive but that will be a matter of individual preference. Secondly, the cable is somewhat thicker. I like the somewhat more substantial feel of the new cable. Third, the new cable terminates in a 1/4" phone plug whereas my original cable terminated in a 3.5 mm plug with a 3.5 mm-1/4" adapter. I now use an adapter I already owned most of the time. Again that is a matter of personal preference and since I use the headphones in devices with use both size jacks (my Denon receiver has a 1/4" jack and my computer uses a 3.5 mm jack) I have to have an adapter part of the time regardless of the plug. Fourth, the original cable had a red plug for the right channel headphone and a black plug for the left channel headphone. The replacement uses black for both although both sets are molded with L or R on the plugs. It does make it easier to identify the right earpiece when the cable uses a different color than the left side. I am pleased with the new cable. I can tell no difference sonically between the new cable and the original cable other than moving my head no longer cuts off the signal to one channel or the other the way the original cable had developed the bad habit of over the last 15 years.

Almost Great
I've been mucking around with the cable that came with my HD 600's for years, constantly tweaking the connectors to get them to work for both channels - while trying to keep my head from moving, even 1 mm, for fear that the sound would cut out again. Ugghhh. For some bizarre reason, I never thought to look on Amazon for a replacement cable. Doh! The good news: this cable works! Yea! And after a fairly short break-in time, it sounds every bit as good as the original. I'm very happy. 5 stars. Or is it? Now for the bad news. There are two, somewhat nit-pickey, but important things that I found annoying enough to mention to prospective buyers. First, the Left & Right connectors are no longer color coded. Uggh. I guess I'm just too old to deal with the black-on-black L or R imprinted on the connector in dim light. While this "problem" was remedied in less than a minute by using some of my wife's red nail polish on the Right connector, this really should have been done at the factory. -1 star. Second, the cable I received only had a 1/4" connector hard wired to the end of the cable. This arrangement requires a separate adapter if/when you want to plug into any of today's devices - iWhatever, phone, etc. Again, this was an easy fix since I already had such an adapter, but it's really a pain because it makes the termination end very long and inflexible. The original cable had a 1/8" connector "inside" a 1/4" connector, making either form of connection a breeze. -1 star. And finally, some more good news. At ~$20, this is a pretty reasonable solution to a well documented, long-standing problem. If this cable came from Apple, Samsung or Microsoft it would be $50. So kudos to Sennheiser and Amazon for providing a good solution for a reasonable price. Thanks! +1 star.

Decidedly better.
There are those who insist on creating new neural pathways in their brains through evermore superior headphones and upgrades. I am not one of them; and I am certainly not looking for a short-cut to the nearest brain-infarctus. I like my classical music; classical music ONLY. I do not need to be "blown away" by artificial sounds or to be taken away from any natural reflective response to Art-music either. Used to the natural accoustics of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, I know what to listen for. This most definitively influenced all my individual choices. There are a lot of specialists who will sweep you off your feet with a lot of information and personal opinions are abounding on the internet. But they all tell you the same thing: apart from true technical progress, much depends on the choices of the hi-fi equipment, the genres of music listened to, the way one listens to the music and one's own disposition. So, the choice of an upgrade may be very specific. My Sennheiser HD-580 headphones (with their original fine and too delicate cable) driven by a powerful Denon DCD-1450, demanded a much-needed upgrade. This sturdy, official Sennheiser replacement-cable (compatible for esp. the high-end series HD-650, HD-600 and HD-580, made a great difference indeed and greatly improved the sound-signature, as well as the sound-stage. The sound from my headphones is stronger now, bolder and has a well-balanced overall image. Earlier worries about the somewhat too bright a musical texture, have been resolved with it. I also noticed that the cable, being new, started off very neutrally and needed its time to adjust to the specific colours and demands of classical music; the original three-dimensional sound-stage therefore, is still developing. There is no need to change for the HD-600 or HD-650 now, but for curiosity. In my case, this particular replacement-cable is a great advancement, and, as far as objectivity goes, permits me to fully appreciate what the music and these headphones are "telling" me.

Just... don't do it.
I am not normally one to write negative reviews, on ANYTHING, let alone products. I'm a very, very, very forgiving, patient person. With that said. Don't buy it. For the love of all that is holy, do not buy this cable. I'm begging you. The right side started cutting out within under a year of owning it. Oh well... eventually, after messing with the cable a bit, I found a VERY specific position where, if it stayed in that position, it would continue working without much trouble. So, got a zip-tie, tied it in such a way that it would stay in that position, and now it works OK. Great. Fast forward another few months, to just a few hours ago. Left side starts going out. The kicker? This is the second one of these replacement cables I've ordered. This is the THIRD. CABLE. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME. THIS CABLE. HAS STARTED HAVING THIS ISSUE. WITHIN LESS THAN A YEAR. THEY HAVE ALL DIED. IN THIS EXACT SAME WAY. IN THIS EXACT SAME TIMEFRAME. Also, as a side note, I take very good care of the cables, in fact they hardly ever even move at all, they're almost always completely stationary. Cannot possibly see a world in which this is down to user error. I rest my case. Just... spend, like, $20 more on a good cable. Audiophile Ninja is a great, relatively affordable option for only $20 - $30 more than this one, but there's many many many other options. IF you cheap out and get this cable now, you'll be getting it again. and again. and again. So just spend a TINY bit more on a good, quality cable. Please. Don't suffer the same fate as me. Your good headphones deserve a good cable, which this is most certainly not. Don't be fooled by the "official" branding, and don't be fooled by the 4.5 star rating this product has (no clue how that happened honestly, it does NOT deserve that rating.) I was fooled by both of those things, I cheaped out (multiple times) and I've paid the price. Bringing it back full circle, just... don't do it.

Works on HD58X
Works on the Massdrop HD 58X Jubilee headphones. I wish the cable was shorter and had a 3.5mm plug. Sennheiser doesn't seem to stock the shorter Apogee cable very often so this one will have to do since I want an actual Sennheiser cable. The official cable for the HD 600 would work as well, and has a 3.5mm plug, but it is almost twice the price when it is in stock.
