Hole/Tear Repair Patch

Does as it says!
It is very sticky so you have to make sure that when you stick it on, it is exactly where you want to be.It initially worked very well. I used it on my outdoor BBQ cover and on a leather office chair that was peeling by the arm rest.A year later on the BBQ cover the tape was still there, but the glue was flaking and the tape was curling up on the edges because of sun exposure.A year later on the arm rest of the chair it was ever so slightly peeling at the edges, but it stopped the chair from further ripping, which is what I got it for... When I have to replace it, it may not be so easy because it still quite sticky. All in all it works great, but needs replacing after a year on the BBQ. It was also easy to take off and easy to replace which made it a painless experience.

Works great! Super customer service from Brightkick.
I've used Tear-Aid Type-B material to patch my motorcycle seat and it has worked well (especially when yo follow the directions, exactly) This time I needed to waterproof a repair patch to one of my Helen-Two-Wheels motorcycle bags so I opted to try the Tear-Aid Type-A material. In the past every time I had used Tear-Aid it had come either in rolls or in small patches. But, because this patch was larger and was shipped in an envelope it came folded and appeared to be permanently creased. I was concerned so I fired off an email to BrightKick and got a positive reassuring response within the hour on a late Friday afternoon that the apparent creases would go away once the paper backing was removed and the material stretched during application. To do the install, I turned the bag inside out, stretched it over an ironing board, cleaned the patch area with a 50-50 mixture of 91% isopropyl alcohol and water, waited for it to dry, cut the patch down for length, rounded the corners with scissors, peeled the paper backing off a half inch, placed it in position, and then worked it down the rest of the way peeling the paper backing and rubbing the patch into place.Sure enough the Tear-Aid performed exactly as promised; the creases are gone and my Helen-Two-Wheels bag is once more waterproof.

Awful color
My dog chewed a hole in the arm of my flawless leather couch. I needed something to mend it and hopefully to okay. This came in a large sheet and was supposed to be tan...it is a very reddish brown...desperate for something to cove the hole so my dog wouldn't continue to chew it I used it to patch it up. It does still very well and the texture is leather like...the color is just awful. I will have to buy something else to put over it.

Patches well.
We used this in combination with Match n Patch, also sold by Amazon. Covered the area with color product first, then covered withTear-Aid. The latter seals the other tapes edges and keeps it all in place. No tear magically disappears. If you patch something, it will look like you patched it, but using the color patch first, then this, the patch blended well and holds up well.

Do not recommend, generic product.
Packaging is non existent, not the same as the pictures shown and is very generic. Instructions are just a piece of paper and it looks like the seller just printed it out , folded it and sent it in the envelope. The patch it self was not straight and it looks like it was cut out of a larger piece of the same material. It sticks well to leather, I will have to see how it performs with time.I do not recommend.

GREAT FIX for the price!
We got this VERY very quickly! That was great. Used it on a leather-look couch that had sustained a HUGE slit to the middle seat back. I found it a little hard to work with -- because it was terrifically sticky -- but THAT is to its credit. It has been on this couch for a few months now and there is absolutely NO evidence that it will EVER weaken. I'm starting to think the patch will out-live the couch! ...and the punishment my 5 kids put it through!! Great product!

this stuff works!!!
a word of caution. this stuff sticks!!i tried to glue it from under the tear so you would not see the patch. problem if you peel the backing off before you put it under you cant get it to the correct spot. if you try to peel it while in position, it will crumple. i solved the problem by peeling and folding the far end, attaching a piece of this patch to the backing (so i could grip it, otherwise youll never get the backing off) then i slid it in, tamped down the far end, and tamped down as i went along. only wish i hadnt wasted most of it before figuring out the trick

not so great product
The first patch I used on my leather seat in my car did not hold. I was very suprised as the reviews stated that the product had {super hold} and this was not the case with me. I am hoping this second patch does the trick. This company also charges $4.99 for shipping and they sent the product in a regular envelope through the postal service.
