Good Solid Weight Bar
Over the years, between a couple of moves and loaning things out, my once complete weight set purchased in the mid 80s, has dwindled down to a few bits and pieces. And while I still have the curling and dumbbell bars as well as some of the plates, the straight barbell bar necessary for many other types of exercises went missing some years ago. As I have not done any lifting for some time, other than some light dumbbell exercises, this wasn't an issue until I recently decided to start in again to help tone up an aging physique. This Sunny Health & Fitness 60 inch bar fits my needs perfectly. The fact that it is shorter than a typical 6 or 7 foot weight bar is actually a plus for me, as I am using it indoors in my "man-cave" where I have my TV, stereo equipment, and a number of bookcases filled with CDs and DVDs. I purposely wanted a shorter bar so there might be less chance of unintentionally banging into things about the place. And since my days of being able to bench 300 plus pounds are but a distant memory, any amount of weight I will be using will fit quite easily and safely onto this shorter bar (which I believe has a 250 pound limit). The threaded star locks do need to be re-tightened every so often to keep the plates snug, but I feel this is an acceptable trade-off for the security of having the plates held on by at least several inches of threaded rod, rather than just a clamp. An extra plus is that the star locks from my old curling bar fit this new bar as well, should I wish to double up. Of course, spinning the lock collars off and on is a bit more time consuming as well, but since I do not change weights frequently, this presents no problem for me. With approximately a 37 inch span between the inner plate stops, I am able to adjust my grip width to pretty much whatever I need. This is a solid one piece weight bar for use with 1 inch plates (NOT 2 inch Olympic plates). It seems to be of good quality, and priced fairly in these days of soaring costs for exercise equipment. It arrived well packed and shrink wrapped inside a long rectangular package, with no assembly required, other than spinning the star locks off, adding some weights, and spinning the locks back on. And you're ready to go. I'm certain there are probably better bars out there. But if you are looking for a good value in something safe and solid to utilize with a moderate amount of weight, this is an ideal choice. Recommended.

Good quality, good price.
This 60" barbell bar comes in one piece and is about 16 pounds. It fits standard sized weights with no adjusting and no extra clamps. It can hold a good amount of weight without bowing. This was purchased for my son who has limited space in his little home gym. It works well for him and he has had no issues with the bar. He doesn't lift a ton of weight but he does lift heavier weights than I actually thought this bar could hold and there have no problems. The handles are textured for a good grip but gloves should still be worn to prevent slippage and to protect the hands. The metal looks nice and nothing has peeled or discolored in the months that my son has been using this bar. The price plus Prime shipping can't be beat for a home gym user. I wouldn't buy this if I were planning on lifting competition style weights - super heavy ones. But it does hold up well to heavier weights that an average guy (or woman) would lift. We're pleased with the quality and the price of this bar.

Good Bar
This is a solid, decent option for starting strength training if you don't want to or can't spend a lot of money on the initial supplies. For years, really since I was in gymnastics, I had pretty much avoided doing much in the way of strength training like the plague, and had no problem defending my cardio queen status to any body who asked. Because as a woman with a few hormonal issues, I knew I put on muscle easier, and it wasn't my preferred look. It's taken me a bit to come to peace with the veins on my arms, though I'm certainly very proud of what I can do with my body right now...my current level of fitness at 40 far surpasses what it did in my mid 20's, when I thought I was so super cool because I ran 3-4 miles a day, and went hiking and rollerblading, etc. So I wasn't sure how much time or money I initially wanted to commit to strength training, and this was cheaper and well rated. And then as it quickly became clear because of the demands I was facing at home as the mom to an extraordinary little boy, who's conditions would have seen him buried in an institution even 50 years ago, that I had better start strength training like I really freaking mean it, using both body weight and free weights. Because I need a high degree of functionality, strength, and endurance to do what I currently do... and as I watch how he's grown and exceeding expectations, I have no regrets, and part of me even finds it rather amusing now some of the looks I get when I have to tote him around on my shoulders in public (because he's kinda big for his age, and I'm kinda short for a grown woman). And this particular barbell is definitely part of what helped get me there. So I put some heavy use on this, and I can tell you it will absolutely get the job done up to a certain point. If you are serious about strength training, you will probably eventually want to get something even better. So I can't give it 5 stars because: The screw on nuts that hold the plates on, or whatever they technically call them for this thing, loosen up sometimes, and you have to re-tighten them down periodically. It also makes changing plates more cumbersome. And the screw treads on the bar are wicked sharp. I was walking through the house without my glasses once, and I had left my medium load plates on the bar, I was walking with a fair bit of intention, and I clipped the edge of the bar because I visually misjudged where it was, and opened up a rather nasty 1 inch gash on the top of my foot. So that's something you will have to be careful about. Otherwise, this is functional and will get the job done in a more affordable way.

Great Value, Does what it needs to do
This bar is exactly what it says. 5' long, 1" wide (fits standard plates, NOT 2" OLYMPIC PLATE). Weighed about 12lbs on my scale. Really, I can't imagine getting a better value on this. Went to a few local stores, Walmart, Academy, etc, and couldn't find a place that beat the price. And this is a solid piece of metal, so no one could beat the quality either. There are a few small things. There were small rough spots on the bar, like other people mentioned, but nothing that felt like it could be a problem during a workout. It looks like it could really comfortable fit 4-6 plates, but given that it claims a max of 250, you probably won't need more than 3. The spinlock collars do slip a bit, and you'l have to re-tighten them as you exercise. I like doing bicep curls with it, so the swaying motion causes the plates to spin and the collars to start loosening. To address that, I added a small rubber washer before I put the plates on to help keep them more secure, and to add some tension to prevent loosening. I'll be adding photos of that later. This isn't 100% necessary, but the collars spin on so easily that it makes sense they loosen easily too. FOR EXERCISES: Seems a little short for bench pressing, so if you're looking to get into serious chest exercises (200lbs+), you might want to look for an 6' Olympic bar instead. But for lighter presses (~150lbs) it should be perfect. It's my favorite to use for bicep curls. Overhead presses for the shoulders are great here too. The only thing I don't 100% recommend: I like doing hip thrusts when I'm working my glutes, but at 1" thin, it does dig into you a bit if you've got it loaded with weights. Otherwise, really versatile given its size.

Excellent quality, nice finish, great price
COVID has closed down the gyms in my area - again. I needed a home workout setup and I have a bunch of 1 inch weight plates from the past. I have a curl bar but wanted a straight bar and located this item. Pro: -Excellent quality -Quick ship -$40 - almost free! -Collars spin on quickly -Good plate capacity -Chrome finish is excellent -Knurling is not overdone. Some bars have really deep knurls and they hurt - not this bar, good grip. Con: -The bar was coming out of the end of the box when it arrives - like 8 inches poking out. It's not going to get damaged but the seller might want to put small small plywood blocks on the bar ends in the shipping box. -A light film of machine oil on the bar. Not so much a "con" as a heads up to clean the bar with a degreaser before use because it's slippery. I used shop parts cleaner and it worked great. No real downside to the actual bar - unless you don't have weight plates - good luck locating those and when you do find them they are primo priced, even the 1" diameter plates. Hope that helps!
