Cheap and Easy Way to Get Into Cocktail Making
This is an outstanding novice bartending kit. Before I bought this kit, the most complicated cocktail I had ever made was a whiskey and coke. This was largely because, a) I had never been interested in making mixed drinks, and b) I lacked the tools to make them if I was so inclined. After purchasing this extremely cheap kit, I started practicing making a variety of drinks, and thanks to the help of this kit, mastered a number of them. This kit can easily handle drinks like the amaretto sour (uses egg whites) to Mai Tais (minus the mint). However, there are a few things that this kit does not do exceptionally well. First, it lacks a muddler as well as a small secondary strainer (necessary for citrus based drinks). I picked up both at my local dollar store, but if you're looking for an absolutely complete kit, this 13 Piece option is probably not right for you. Second, the Hawthorne strainer is not particularly comfortable. Sometimes the metal feels like it's digging into the skin. This will likely only become an issue if you're bartending at a large party. Finally, it would have been nice if the twists on the spoon extended all the way to the red cap. This would make it slightly easier to stir drinks. These are all minor complaints. The reality is, the 13 Piece Kit is outstanding, both because of the price, and because one year after I purchased this, everything is still as new looking as the day I bought it (I'm a college student in Greek life. This gets used extremely often).

Great Kit
I received the kit quickly and it was everything i had hoped it would be. The shakers are very good quality, i use only the 28 oz tin though, haven't had a use for the small tin. I use a thick walled pint glass with the 28 oz tin and it seals perfectly every single time. The jigger, strainer, spoon, cork screw, and speed opener are nice and are of good quality for the price. I haven't used any of the pour spouts yet, but these are simply cheap toppers that should work as intended. I would not hesitate to buy this if you are looking for an affordable boston shaker that will not disappoint in looks or function. If you want the real boston shaker experience buy a shaker glass to go with your purchase. cheers and happy shaking.

Good for a starter kit!
The shakers don't leak which is a plus, however you are supposed to be able to lock the shakers together with a Boston Shaker, which is what I was expecting. Since the 16oz shaker is so much smaller then the 28 oz the smaller shaker fits almost completely inside the 28oz instead of sticking out like it's supposed to. However, since it fits so far inside the larger shaker it is rather easy to hold the 16oz in place with one hand. On the plus side, the shakers don't leak while mixing the drinks.Other then that I am thoroughly impressed with the set and price.

Great product (poorly packaged)
The set itself is great. It has pretty much everything you would need to set up a really great at home bar. However, be aware this does not come in a nice box. The set is fit into a small (unlabeled) white box. Not great when you are planning to give this as a gift.

Very useful
This is a great bartending kit and fairly inexpensive. I bought it for a family member and they were quite pleasd. The bottle opener is substantial, and the grater/filter is useful. The mixing spoon is both beautiful and useful. This is a great starter kit for anyone interested in the tools necessary to make a great cocktail!

happy
I was looking for a bartenders kit so I could get a head start on bartending school. All thirteen pieces came in the package. See how bartending school comes along.

Gave as a gift.
The person I gifted this to really liked it. It was nice. Nothing spectacular, but one of the nicer ones I found in that price range.
