Mitutoyo 64PKA079 Magnetic Stand With Dial Indicator, 1" Travel, 0.001" Graduation

I'm a heavy machinery mechanic for 15 years. I've struggled with lousy measuring sticks and I've grown to trust Mitotoyo. Bearing pre-load, shaft end play, bearing/pin deflection, it all has to be pretty friggin' exact. This one was made in China, but still feels and functions as good as Japanese made. And it costs less.

A must have when you are working on differential gear sets, no hang up in these gauges at all super smooth and a name you can trust!

Sturdy base and extremely accurate measurements.

It's cheaper than any other website or retailer I could find. It's real mitutoyo I was concerned thinking it might be fake but it's real and insane quality! The company selling it, Turtle and Hughes, had it delivered the next day! Perfect 👍 works perfect for my lathe.

Magnet isn't that great. It slides on me in certain situations. I paid a lot for the setup and expected more from it as it is a reputable brand but the magnet is a huge let down. Buy the dial indicator but don't buy the stand. It is easy to install I'll give it that. The dial indicator itself is very good and works as expected. Overall I'd recommend the dial indicator but not the stand for it.

Adjustment is very good. Device works as it should.

Much better quality than others I have compared.

Missing gauge pointers on flange. Also missing top cap to set zero... Basically disappointed with missing parts.

The indicator and stand came in this really cheap case. The case is super cheap and will discard once the set goes in the tool box.
