One of the hinges on my toilet seat broke and so I thought it would be cheaper to buy a replacement set of hinges rather than a new toilet seat. While this has proven to be the case it is more by luck than design! While we are given loads of measurements for these hinges (for which many thanks by the way), I had not noticed that the length of the arms are in fact slightly shorter than that of my existing hinges and that the length of the screws provided were ever so slightly longer than my existing screws. Now this would not be a problem if I had a wooden toilet seat but mine in not wooden and if I had tried to drill holes and use the new screws I would probably have split my 'thin' toilet seat cover. Fortunately, I was able to use many of the parts provided in this set to replace the broken bit of my existing hinge and provide a virtually 'good as new' look to the unit. So the lesson I have learnt from this experience is that getting all the measurements absolutely correct is essential if you are looking to avoid the simpler but more expensive option of buying a replacement toilet seat.As for the hinges themselves, I have no problems with their quality at all. They look good and while some of the parts are plastic rather than metal, they have not caused any problems to date.

It all hinged on whether they would work, and they did! Feeling flushed with success now, just had to sit down!

Got these to see if we could replace the hinges on the loo seats.However, we have since decided it would be a lot less hassle to just replace the whole seat.The package came with zero instructions.And an extra bar that was not shown anywhere on the description.So we set about taking the loo seat off, removing the hinges, and putting these new ones on.First problem: the bar was too long. So we had to cut that down.Second problem, we had to redrill some of the holes for the hinges because even though the bar had been cut down, it was still too long.Third problem: we had to keep refering to the old hinges to make sure we got the new ones the right way around as each of the three pieces was separate and there were no instructions.We finally get the hinges on and thing yay, we did it. Now we can pop it back of the loo and do our business without sliding around like we're in a toboggan race.No.That would have been too easy.We had to use the long threaded bars off the old hinges as the new ones were too big to fit in.Then it took a solid half hour to fit the seat back on as every time it got knocked the threaded bar unscrewed itself from the hinge.Eventually we got it all done and back together.However, unless you are paying for solid gold loo seats, it is not worse getting these replacement hinges unless you really like torturing yourself with difficult tasks. Even then, I'd rather just get a new loo seat that comes with better hinges already attached.

This was the best-quality and best-price toilet seat hinge set I could find. It doesn't disappoint: The parts do feel good-quality.The following probably applies to all toilet seat hinges of this design, not just this individual product, but it's worth mentioning:1. It can be tricky to find out which way around things go, and there are no instructions. Make sure you take pictures before taking off the old fittings.2. Before buying hinges, I'd recommend taking the old ones off first. You might find that your toilet seat is rotten and breaks around the hinge area when you take them off. In this case, you should perhaps get a new toilet seat (with hinges included) instead.

Simple hinges, easy to use, just had to drill a couple of new holes as the previous hinges were of a completely different type, so much better than getting another new toilet seat set.

The hinges ordered were not the correct sizing, but made use of them by simple modification.

Replaced a broken hinge with these , easy to adjust and fit . Perfect result .
