A gift for the wife and daughter, both of whom are avid plant lovers. They both seem to enjoy and appreciate the ability to monitor their plants' soil condition. A very reasonable price for a very practical gift!

Update at bottom of review!!! Not changing my 1 star because I don't believe my soil was too loose as it was 1 part regular soil, 1 part succulent and a scoop of perlite which doesn't match the soil type description explained to me of why it might not be working. I did not test outside on soil so that was my mistake. They also said they do not compensate for reviews so I was incorrect in saying that. So here's some more info after my review on some advice from sellers if you might need it to make a decision or if reading this after purchase and product isn't working quite right. *I bought based off reviews on this but what I got is obviously defective and will be returning. I just repotted 1st plant 30 min ago and soaked it until water ran through and it's reading basically dry when it's obvious with the naked eye the soil it wet. 2md plant was watered yesterday and is at least slightly moist but it's reading dry dry and it is not dry dry at all. Better off using my finger to gauge water. This device sucks.
