Q: How long is the damn thing? 4" long? too long and control arms will get in the way when doing rear brakes on mkv...

The bit is about 2 1/8" long. I have a GTI Mk5 and used this bit with a Craftsman 1/2" ratchet for the rear brakes. It fits when the bolts are fully inserted but clearance became a problem as the bolts back out. I was not able to get a torque wrench in there so I had to do my best when retightening the bolts. Good luck!

I do not believe so. You will need a 10.0mm square socket or a 3/8 square is the closest
