This Gator Hide is “good stuff.” I painted two vanities with Dixie Belle products. The Gator Hide product imparts a water resistant finish on the doors and drawers. There’s an array of colors from which to choose. The Gator Hide goes on easily. It dries quickly, making it easy to apply multiple coats. I’m very pleased.

This was my first time using chalk paint and wow, what a difference it made. The base color was green and this covered it right up with two Coats. It was easy to paint with and I am super pleased with results! I learned once it dries, within a hour you can start next coat if you want. So it’s a quick painting job. I let it cure a day before I put on the gator top coat that sealed it from water impacts. I love it!

I decided to use this on a headboard that I had painted to try to keep the paint from wearing off. The problem was I didn't lay the peice down flat, I left it leaning up right. I tried to do very thin coats, but this tends to not go on smoothly if you apply it too thin, anyway when I looked at it after it dried there were yellow runs all over! I tried to hand sand the runs off, but I couldn't get them off. I ended up having to use my hand sander to remove them. I then laid the peice flat and applied one final coat. I am hoping that will do the job. Besides that, it gives a beautiful satin sheen, and it must be tough stuff to need the palm sander to remove the runs! We shall see how it holds up!

This is the second container I have purchased for a rental property we are remodeling. I decided to use this after I finished a kitchen backsplash with chalk paint. It was actually an ugly linoleum that I took a chance on refinishing to keep the cost down and trying to remove it would have caused the plaster on a 100 year old building to crumble. I’m so happy I did . . . with 3 coats of Gater Hide the finished project looked like tiles and I feel confident it will hold up for years. It levels out if you carefully apply it with a sponge and long smooth passes. It’s a beautiful satin finish.

I have used this several times now to seal furniture. I love how easy it is to use, how fast it dries and the protection it gives.

This product is the best top coat ever invented!! I use it with my chalk paint, but can be used with other paints. I apply it with the sponges, that are sold. And wow, beauitul and sheen, not shiny like polyurethane. And you can also paint over it, later if you want to change the color. The only downfall, for some, is you need to let it cure, for 30 days. Especially if using on outside furniture.
