Very Good Price/Performance Mechanical Watch
I've had this watch about a half a year. In terms of value for price, it is an excellent watch. I must emphasize "value for price". There are better mechanical watches on the market. But all of them cost more, and some cost a lot more. So my five stars is based on what I got, for the price I paid, not a relative measure versus other mechanical watches. This watch runs over 24 hours on a full wind just sitting still. If I wear it, and take advantage of the auto wind feature, it keeps it going. I can't ask for any more than that in terms of "working". As for performance, it runs about 1.8 sec fast per hour on a full wind, and tends toward 2.5 as the spring unwinds; I expected the opposite, but it actually runs faster as the spring power decreases. Overall, I expect it to runs about forty to fifty seconds fast per day. This is fine for a watch at this price point. Second had does not hack. The stem is difficult to pull out. I actually have to use a small precision screwdriver for this purpose. If you don't have strong fingernail, popping the crown might be difficult for you. The detentes for time and date are very distinct, and the set movement is light. Winding resistance is somewhat heavy, but not too difficult. "Leather" band is nice for this price point. Not stamped, so not sure if it's a leather grade or plether of some kind. Considering I've bought basic leather bands that cost more than the watch itself, this one does the job. I didn't have high expectations when I bought this watch, and so far it has exceeded them. Only time will tell if it continues. If you don't mind the issues I've described above, and are willing to sacrifice performance issues for price, this is a great watch. Looks are magnificent.

Save your money. Seriously.
An attractive watch with classic styling, nice weight and feel in hand, and comfortable on wrist. I was initially pleased with the watch, pleasantly surprised that a $16 automatic watch could seemingly be so good. Within 24 hours of wear I noticed the watch had stopped so I wound it again by hand and made sure to deliberately shake my wrist periodically throughout the day to keep it wound. It stopped again two more times in as many days leading me to conclude the internal counterweight wasn't rotating and, therefore, couldn't provide the kinetic energy necessary to keep the watch functioning. Rather than return the watch through Amazon I contacted the seller for support as the paperwork accompanying the watch requested. Customer support (via email) was prompt, courteous, and helpful. With apologies they offered to send me a new watch and did not ask for return of the original. Unfortunately the new watch was Dead On Arrival. It didn't work at all. One might be tempted to say, "you get what you pay for", or, "what did you expect from a $16 Chinese made watch?" Well, I figure even a $16 Chinese made watch should adequately perform its most basic function: accurately telling time. I don't expect the same accuracy, build quality or longevity I would from a Rolex...or even a Seiko...but, c'mon. Also disappointing is that no one seemed to have even bothered to check to see that the replacement watch worked properly before shipping it out. I was prepared to write a positive review of the replacement watch but obviously that isn't possible now. So my recommendation is to save a little more and buy a little better. If you want a recommendation for a reliable good-looking automatic with sapphire crystal, steel case, and a proven, reliable movement (Seiko 8215 movement) consider the Starking model AM0171. It's about $60. Update: I just returned the non-working $16 watch through UPS. I was told the box in which I packaged my return had to be in a $2.99 Tyvek envelope as per Amazon. Can't wait for my $13 refund. Lesson learned.

I was surprised at how nice this watch is for the money
I was surprised at how nice this watch is for the money. It is clear on the back so you can see the all metal gears inside. Not plastic parts but metal. The case is stainless steel. The watch and face is a little large but that's OK as it's a man's watch. It works by the kinetic motion of wearing it on your wrist or you can wind it up with the stem which I would recommend doing if you take it off while you sleep. Wind it up fully before going to bed and it will still be running when you get up. If you don't do that it will probably not be running in the morning. But for less than $20.00 I am very pleased with the quality of this watch. I have had it a week and it has not lost any time. It's been accurate. If you don't like hassle and expense of replacing watch batteries- then I would highly recommend this very affordable automatic watch. The band is adequate but it is not genuine leather as described but you can't expect a leather band on a watch costing less than $20.00. This is still a great value.

Looks Nice, But No Tick-Tock
It's a nice looking watch, and seems to work fine out of the box. But the main reason I bought it was because one of my granddaughters is fascinated by the tick-tock sound of our mechanical mantle clock. I thought that this watch, being a wind-up mechanical, would also make that sound, but alas, it is totally quiet. The wrist strap is very low quality. It feels like pieces of cardboard wrapped with shiny plastic material. I don't expect it to hold, given the extensive warnings the manufacturer includes in the product description, but I think that's to be expected at this price point. I'll wear it until it breaks, meanwhile continuing to search for an actual "tick-tock" wristwatch.

Impressive until it stops working
It's unbelievable to me how they can make an automatic watch that looks this good for so little money. Mine keeps perfect time, and stays wound throughout the day as I wear it. When off my wrist during the night it loses its energy and is always stopped when I wake up (about a 5 hour reserve; much less than advertised). Sometimes the date seems to not want to advance along with the time either, but will advance with the crown pulled to the first click and rotated counter clockwise. These small inconveniences don't matter to me as I realize the limitations of such a cheaply manufactured watch. Also, I don't wear it every day and I don't mind setting the date and time for the day and then winding it before I put it on. If I'm in a real hurry I'll just grab a quartz watch for the day. Anyways, the band is rather cheap but looks fine at a distance and could be easily replaced. When looking through the back window of the watch you can see the movement ticking along and there are some visible rubies too. I hope this watch lasts at least a couple years as I really like the way it looks, similar to the Longines Master Collection design! The good thing about Amazon is if it dies in the first month of ownership, I will return it. After that, there is a 6 month warranty included with the watch from the manufacturer. And after that, well, it is cheap enough to just buy another as it would cost much more than the watch's value to get it serviced. So overall, a great disposable mechanical watch for nice occasions. The watch arrived on July 12 and I will update this review if and when it completely dies. So far so good! Update 2-16-2022: it's still alive, but I only wear it once every 2-3 months. Still looks nice and keeps good time Update 7-4-23: second hand got hung up, time stopped advancing , after winding started working again but I don't really trust it anymore for relying on time keeping. I only wear it a couple times a year now. Face still looks nice, band isn't very comfortable, very plastic feeling, shows wear after only a few uses. Don't expect more than about 30 uses total before it quits staying wound enough to last the day, even if you are active.

I love the looks, but is it too good to be true? Detailed mesurements...
A good looking automatic dress watch for under $20, is this real or too good to be true? I rarely have a need to wear formal dress watches, but I've been looking for a vintage looking dressy automatic. I wanted to have arabic numerals written in cursive like the one on this watch face. I absolutely love how simple and elegant this watch looks. The hour, minute and seconds hands are blue. I love slightly convex crystal on the watch face resembling vintage watches. This watch should be a reference to all dress watches. So, unfortunately because the price is less than $20 the movement and some details are not good quality. I would pay $200 or more for this watch if it were higher quality: So let's get to the details. First of all, the strap is trash, they shouldn't even waste money on the strap and they should sell the watch without a strap and improve quality of the movement. I replaced the strap with a fossil brand and it costs twice as much as what I pad for the watch. This watch is large for a dress watch but despite the larger size, it feels very comfortable and does not feel large at all. Ideally a dress watch case diameter would be 39-40 mm and case thickness would be at 10mm or less. This watch measures 41.5mm case diameter, watch thickness is a whopping 14.8mm (including the slight convex crystal). Lug to lug is 47mm. The watch mechanical movement is marginal, this is where it shows it's sub par quality. I belive it has some sort of cheap Chinese movement. Pulling the crown out is difficult and when pushing back in the minute hand jumps, because of this you can't set the time precisely. The seconds hand keeps moving when setting the time and is typical for this type of cheap movement. Pushing the crown back in is even harder. The flywheel doesn't move freely, as the watch is fully wound the flywheel gets harder to turn. I suspect the automatic winding doesn't function properly. I end up winding the watch manually. Also the flywheel has smudge marks, maybe the person assembling the watch did not wash his hands after eating his lunch? I wish it had a Seiko NH35 movement then I would gladly pay allot more for this watch. When you spend couple hundred dollars you can find dozens of reliable and quality watches (Seiko, Citizen, Casio, Bulova, Orient). But at this price, you can't even find a toy watch in a cracker jack box. Despite all it's flaws (poor movement, larger case, cheap strap), this watch has a soul. It looks beautiful and even the cheap movement adds a gritty character to the watch. I'm still amazed how they were able to make such a beautiful looking watch at such a low price. In the end I'm going to buy another one just in case it gets discontinued. BTW: if anyone knows of a better quality watch within couple hundred dollars that looks exactly same please add to comments and let me know. I'm not looking to pay PATEK PHILIPPE kind of prices.

Nice looking, but you do get what you pay for.
THE PROS The face is deceptively classy for a sub-$20 watch. I've gotten lots of compliments on my "fancy" new watch, and when I ask folks how much they think I spent on it, the guesswork ranges from $100-$300. THE CONS * There are definitely some quality issues. The keeper bands that hold the strap in place both broke within a month of purchase. One broke within the first week; the other followed suit 3 weeks later. Then the spring holding the strap in place popped out, and the watch face shattered when it hit the ground. The company sent me a new watch, but the springs on the new one have both popped out several times. I've had the new watch for about a month, and the springs pop out on average once or twice a day. * It can be a pain in the ass to keep the time accurate if you don't wear it constantly. If I take it off at night, I'll usually need to wind it A LOT and then recalibrate the time and date. From time to time, the second hand hangs up, and the watch stops. Sometimes winding it will get it moving again. This happened again today though, and I haven't been able to get it going again. * Kind of annoying — the date advances at 10pm instead of at midnight, which can be confusing. Also, the date dial only has 31 digits, so for the first day of a month following 30-day months, you're going to have to advance the date manually. * The watch strap is definitely not leather. Did you really expect that for the price though? No. Let's be real. You didn't. So there it is. And the strap is actually too big for my wrist, so I had to punch an additional hole to make it fit.

Classic automatic at a bargain price...
Sometimes a simple design is the best. This watch has the clean elegance of a pre-war watch for an amazing price. It's only (minor) flaw is the watch band, which is shiny and has stamped stitching. (Simply rectified: I purchased a Ritche Leather strap Replacement band in expresso, for $10.99) The face of the watch has some great detail to it and, with the addition of a good leather strap, it looks like a much more expensive watch. I'm also pleased with the quality of the stainless steel, which appears to be of good quality. I've read elsewhere that the watch may be position sensitive and might unwind more rapidly, depending on what position you leave this in. All I can tell you is, thus-far, it is keeping accurate time for me. I think I might invest in a watch winder for this one as I really enjoy wearing it.
