Perfect for dance recital
My son is the bugle boy in "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." This isn't a toy he plays with -- rather, it's a prop with which he mimics a man playing a bugle. When I bought this it wasn't clear that the dimensions are decently realistic. It's not tiny (I was afraid it was Barbie-sized). It does have a mouthpiece that will make a sound if you actually blow into it, but the sound is like a New Year's noisemaker: kind of a harsh bleat, but still lots of fun. It's holding up well but since it's just a prop and only used once a week, that's not surprising. It is awfully cute, and is very noticeable when he's on stage. If you're looking to complete a costume, or just to have something novel, inexpensive, and fun for the kids to play with, this item is perfect.

Great Size/Very Fragile
We used as a prop in a musical. The size was great. Unfortunately they are a bit fragile. We needed 6; one came broken but I re-glued it. Several others cracked during the musical numbers, but I was able to keep re-gluing. So the price/expectation ratio was very good. Still, there is lead in the paint. I would not recommend for a child because of lead, but also because they would not hold up to normal child wear and tear.

It looks like a toy trumpet and that is what I wanted
yes it is cheap plastic but I just wanted Father Christmas to carry it along with a doll and drum. It looks like a toy trumpet and that is what I wanted. No, don't try to play it, it sounds like a duck call.

if you can handle it, your kid will love it
super funny toy for kids if your ears can stand it. Me and my little boy collapse in helpless giggles all the time when we use it! it does terrify the 1-year-old!

Shiny and inexpensive. Perfect for costumes.
This thing is cheap and makes wonderfully obnoxious noises. I don't know what people are expecting for the price, but it's just a toy bugle made out of shiny plastic. It comes with a fake, leathery hand grip and a really cheap plastic carrying loop. I bought it for a Russell costume (from Pixar's Up), and it was perfect.

If you're in to tooting, you'll be a hit too!
Super cute trumpet for our fake Mariachi band - the best part is that you don't have to learn how to play an instrument over night, you can do it on the spot! We took our band around a parade and I faked "la cucaracha" it was so much fun! We paired this with these shirts http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H51VN76/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_15

I came as expected. Used it for a Halloween costume. It was cheaply made but it served its purpose.

Very disappointed
A cheap look! Like could be found on a rack in a dollar tree store. An awful sound! My son does like the shape of the trumpet, but In my opinion he likes it because it's a trumpet. He doesn't want hear the sound at all, just holds it on his hand. What I can't bear is the material contains LEAD, according to the label information. DON'T buy it for kids!
