Good tool

I have been using this particular Hot Steel color for 15 years for winter walleye and no other lure comes close to catching eyes than this one. I have caught over 500 walleyes over the years with this very lure. That is why I never have less than 5 in my tackle bag at all times in case I snag and lose one.

This is by far one of the best rapalas I have ever used. The xrap has carried me through thick and thin, and it feels good to know their lures never disappoint. Out of the 200+ times ive gone fishing with this xrap, I have never skunked due to the suspending feature that I love. They cast far, have good action, and rarely get snagged. Works wonders on smallies and largemouth too.

I have fished with this lure three times. Using for about an hour each time. I like to try different set-ups. My very first cast hooked a nice smallmouth—of course it is not magic just a cool reault on the very first cast. I bought it for walleye or smallmouth but have only caught smallmouth with it. Same trips I will catch walleye with a bucktail jig and live worm. I will definitely keep fishing with this. I like the action and it is always fun reeling in smallies. Good size too, all smallmouths have been 12-15 inches or a tad bigger—no whoppers just nice sized fish.

I've had several of these and use them for deeper reefs here in Hawaii. I run them fairly short off the flat lines at 6 to 8 mph and have no problems with spin-out. They get down deep, although I doubt as far as the 30 feet claimed by Rapala. They are very productive--pretty much anything will hit them from reef fish to pelagics. The only caveats; at the speed I run them they put a lot pull on the rod, so I use a short, stiff rod with 80 lb test. Also, the hooks aren't very heavy duty and will rust quickly.

This lure works wonders in our lake for walleye! We use them every summer and always catch them! Nice slow troll and long line out and you'll be slaying them too!
