I ordered these because, while I was raised as a hard core Snyder's of Hanover fan, the reviews were so positive and Snyder's were so much more expensive. I was admittedly skeptical that these would live up to the hype. Even though they're made in the same town (practically next door!) as Snyder's I was pretty sure they couldn't be as good. (It's hard to find genuine PA Dutch sourdough hard pretzels) THEY ARE!!! AND MAYBE EVEN BETTER given the price was so much lower. I am definitely a fan and will order them again! I believe the lower price is as others have said because these are mostly broken pretzel pieces, but that doesn't affect the taste at all. I also noticed they were about a week away from their sell by date. Again not a problem as the taste and the crunch were about as good as fresh.

I like how you changed the description to include "broken" on these UTZ Old Fashioned "Broken" Sourdough Hards Pretzels – 64 oz Barrel – Big and Thick Classic Pretzel Knot Twist, Crunchy Sourdough Pretzel with Zero Cholesterol, 4 Pound. You just can't seem to ship them without them being broken all to pieces. Just like the last time I ordered these pretzels, not one whole pretzel in the barrel. Looks like you would figure out how to ship these somehow without breaking them. I'm sure most of the blame goes to the delivery people....like UPS. God forbid you take the blame, Amazon. I used to find these at Sam's Club.....and the amazing thing about them is that there weren't ANY of the Pretzels broken in their establishment. Maybe you should check with them to find out how they were able to do such a good job. For some reason they stopped carrying them or I would still be buying these UTZ Old Fashioned Broken Sourdough Hards Pretzels – 64 oz Barrel – Big and Thick Classic Pretzel Knot Twist, Crunchy Sourdough Pretzel with Zero Cholesterol, 4 Pound from them. At least the price is decent at $8.98. I mean....I know that once you start eating them....of course....they are going to be crunched up. But when a person places an order for something.....it ought to be received as purchased. And like I typed earlier......you've created an "out" in your description by calling them "broken".

No sugar and no fat. I’ve ordered these before and my only disappointment is, the one jar had all broken pretzels, no full pretzels.

I sent it as a gift since they love these pretzels and can’t find them where they live!

I've ordered these pretzels several times. They are really good. Within the last month I purchased them twice. I didn't mind the $1.66 increase until I opened the package and noticed how dark colored they looked. Quality control must have missed this batch. They have a slight burnt taste. My husband likes them so I won't ask for a replacement. I just hope this won't be a recurring problem. If so, I will not buy these again.

A delightful snack, when you just want a small treat. Our Collie enjoys even just one while I have a few!

I come from eastern Pennsylvania, which is likely the capital of hard pretzels. I grew up with good pretzels, but the variety and quality in the Midwest is not great. I miss good pretzels, and I cannot even get these thick pretzels here, something I grew up calling "Beer Pretzels." Anyway, the Utz brand pretzels are as good as I have ever had. They are fresh and crunchy. Yes, the price of living outside the Northeast is that these pretzels must be shipped. And, with that, small batch orders will get tossed around quite a bit in delivery. Hence, some of the pretzels will arrive broken into smaller pieces. A third to half of the pretzels I received arrived broken into smaller pieces. Now, that is not a problem, as I love to take the pieces and eat them first. You mostly have to break them apart anyway to eat them. When I was a kid, they sold broken pretzels at a discounted price in supermarkets. That was never a problem. So, I was not bothered when the pretzels arrived with some broken. I understand that the broken pretzels may not be ideal if you are entertaining, but I can live with that or just put out the whole ones. Guests here are always impressed with a snack that is otherwsie hard to find in this region. I, therefore, have no complaints about these Utz pretzels. If you have never tried one, you must. I do not think you will be disappointed.
