Lovely interesting book of short stories each with a message/learning point. Suitable for older children who are able to follow and understand.

This book is an absolute treasure! I bought it as my son is half Chinese and I want him to be in touch with his culture. The stories are so beautifully written, making them easy to follow yet deeply engaging. I was surprised by how many of these myths and legends I didn’t know myself, which made the experience even more culturally enriching. The illustrations are breathtaking—every page feels like a work of art, bringing the stories to life in the most magical way. While it’s perfect for kids, it’s just as enjoyable for parents, making it a wonderful book to read together as a family. Is a very nicely illustrated book suitable not only for children but adults too who want to have a minimum knowledge about Chinese folk stories.

Lovely book with sympathetic illustrations. The stories have similarities to some other traditional tales but my son has really enjoyed these. There’s lots of scope for discussion too. I’ve read these stories to my 6 year old. He wouldn’t be able to read these himself at all. The language is very descriptive, using some difficult or old fashioned words. However this is great as a discussion tool.

Wanted to introduce our kids to some classic Chinese stories, thought it would be different to the usual stuff they currently read. The kids have enjoyed the stories and illustrations. There’s quite a few different stories and the quality of the print is quite nice. All in all, worth the money.

I read these stories in Chinese before. I have to admit the English translation is great!

This is a wonderful book with stunning chinese style watercolour illustrations and well-known stories. We love it! For anyone with a Chinese background, it’s nostalgic and brings a deep sense of pride in our cultural heritage.

I bought this for my daughter to learn a bit of knowledge from the stories and myths from China and learn a some history and their understanding. It was generally an amazing book, kept my daughter entertaining for hours. And each page is super high quality was all kinds of stunning illustrations.
