bought this to replace an old bag I used as a "when I need it bag." Now this one is my "daily, carry everything bag." Pros: Good size. Fits a manilla folder or a small laptop easily. Three main sections plus the snap-close flap make organization easy. It is very sturdy and holds a lot of weight without any problem. Because it is all soft fabric, it is decently expandable to fit LOTS of stuff. Cons: The shoulder strap is a bit narrow, but is decently comfortable to carry all day if the bag isn't totally full. But the strap is easily replaceable if you find one you want to use more. I kept the one that's on it just because I liked the look and I don't usually carry too much stuff. Also, the bag had a tendency to hang in a kind of floppy way because it is all soft fabric and the only thing holding it closed is the main flap. However, I was able to fix those last problems with a couple of clever sewing solutions. First, I sewed vertically between the outside front (next to the snap-pocket - in fact, right through the existing seam) to the next divider. This holds that first section closed a little more, and makes a perfect narrow hole to put a water bottle. Easy to slide in and out without unclipping the cover-flap, and prevents the bottle from turning sideways and spilling. Then I sewed two 14" sport-style zippers onto the remaining compartments, which lets me keep them closed or open them completely (sport style are the kind that will separate completely, rather than remaining closed at the bottom end). I can still fit my 11.6" laptop with room to spare, and a 12" paper folder with ease as well. Bottom line: this is a great bag on its own, but with a little work it can be perfect!

Rothco Vintage Canvas Paratrooper Bag, Black Love this little Rothco bag. I bought the bag as a replacement for another bag that had no pockets. I could never find anything. Pros: It has three internal dividers or pockets. The back on is great, is it actually a separate pocket and easily holds my iPad. The two front spaces are actually dividers, not separate pockets, (more on that in the CONS section). The front also has a place for pens and pencils (love that) along with another pocket. The strap is held on with METAL clips. I like the clips, the strap is easy to remove. The love the metal D rings and fasteners, they feel sturdy. There are two more D rings on the back of the bag, so it could be attached to something else, or you can add a carabineer or attach keys or whatever to these D rings. I love that the bag comes in many colors, I chose black! the bag is well made and arrived on time as described. I began using it right out of the bag. Cons: The first two pockets aren't really pockets, they are dividers. They don't go all the way to the bottom, so your things co mingle in these two pockets. Not an huge issue, but I prefer to keep thing separate for organization.

First off, I don't recommend ironing this bag, because it will discolor slightly. When it arrived, it had some creases and wrinkles from packaging, so I ran an iron over it. The fabric got a little lighter where the iron had been. This didn't bother me, however, because I planned to attach patches to it, anyway (so it would be covered). Pros: -Being able to carry a lot of pens/pencils (able to have multiple colors with me for on-the-go sketching) -Lots of space -Interior divided into three sections -Hook clasp closure keeps bag from spilling open Cons: -Pen/pencil loops a bit narrow (difficult to insert/remove anything larger than a standard pencil, would have been better done in elastic) -One of the dividers in the interior isn't connected to the bottom of the bag (items slip under it and jumble together) -Adjustable "cushion" on strap mostly gets twisted and bunched around the strap (would have been better to just make the whole strap thicker) Overall, this is a pretty awesome bag. It holds my laptop, a couple notebooks, wallet, keys, and a few other odds and ends well enough for school, but somehow manages to not feel quite as "heavy" as other messenger-type bags I've used. It's a simple, basic bag. It's inexpensive enough that I might try to do a little customization work on it (replace the canvas pencil loops with elastic and maybe add a water bottle holder to the side) without worrying that I'll break the bank having to replace it if I mess up.

I am going on a cruise soon, and will be flying overnight to Europe. I needed a bag that would fit under the seat in front of me, and that is big enough for my notebook computer, and a few other things I will need handy access to during the flight. This bag is very well-made. All the stress points are reinforced. There is a pocket on the front of the bag that has a flap that snaps closed. There are 3 compartments inside the main bag, so I can keep the computer separate from the folder with boarding passes, etc. and another compartment that I can put a purse liner in, that holds several small items. The big pocket at the front will hold the quart-size baggie that holds 5 three-oz. bottles of liquid I am allowed to fly with. There are numerous slots for pens, styluses, etc. on the outside of the pocket. There is one big flap that wraps over the entire bag, that has a metal clasp that hooks to the bag under the pocket, affording another layer of security. I can wrap the strap around the telescoping handle of my rolling bag, and it fits just right on top.

The bag overall is great. The one thing I do recommend is upgrading the strap, the one it comes with is astoundingly sub-par, too short and thin for how much the bag can carry. The canvas material is great for durability and style, and works well with sewn/iron on patches. Plenty of space for various items. the front small pocket works well for my water bottle. I have two of these bags, and the old one is still in great shape.

Sirve perfecto para cargar cosas no muy pesadas, el material es suave pero propenso a romperse si no se le tiene cuidado ya que el bolso consiste de pura tela. Fácil de lavar y con espacio para cargar libros, objetos pequeños, laptops, tablets, etc.

I am using this bag as a utility bag when I need to carry a few light items into the woods. It serves my purpose well. But in no way or form it is good for anything but a WW2 style messenger bag.
