Highest 5-Star Quality IFOS certified fish oil for the best price.
I noticed that among Highest 5-Star Rated IFOS certified oil - this product was the lowest priced - high quality product. (Especially, compared to other 5-Star Rated fish oils). I guess I have a little O.C.D. when it comes to taking supplements on daily basis. I am very leery of the claims made by the hundreds of products in the market - so I did some research: If you are going to take a supplement every day for the rest of your life, how can you be sure you are not getting dangerous toxins in the fish? How can you make sure you are getting the actual dosage and quality that are listed on the label? Answer: IFOS Independent Certification. This is what separates the "Best" from all the "Others" that you might find at Walmart or Target. The IFOS is an independent Canadian company that tests fish oils. Their most popular reports are the 5 Star Ratings Reports. [...] IFOS certified fish oil - as recommend by Dr. Sears - "Zone Diet" and "Anti-inflammatory Nutrition" [...] Dr. Sears warns us to pay attention to what we buy. This is a pharmaceutical fish oil preliminarily tested by International Fish Oil Standards program (IFOS). The AHA's lab studies certified that all brands of pharmaceutical fish oil, even the cheapest, were free from toxins, at the moment of testing. But some of them did not meet the doses advertised on the label. Here is another link that was helpful: What are IFOS Fish Oils? [...] These are ultra high grade fish oils that have been tested to meet very strict standards of purity and quality. IFOS is an acronym for International Fish Oils Standards. The IFOS is an independent Canadian company that tests fish oils. Their most popular reports are the 5 Star Ratings Reports. This category is used to test ultra-refined super concentrated fish oils with a minimum 60 percent combine EPA/DHA concentration. A fish oil is given '5 Stars' if it meets criteria in 5 specific areas: Star 1 - Product Passes All CRN/WHO Testing Categories Star 2 - Product Tests Show Minimum 60% EPA plus DHA combined concentration Star 3 - Oxidation Level Less Than 75% of CRN Standard Star 4 - PCB Levels Less Than 50% of CRN Standard This one of the best products I have found at Amazon, that I could not find on other nutrition sites. The Best Quality at the Best Price - can't beat that! Rafael G.

Excellent high potency Omega3
This is a wonderful, clean, and highly concentrated Omega3 that I recommend to my patients for suffering from ADD/ADHD, depression and anxiety. In high doses, 4000-6000mg daily, Omega3s can be extremely helpful for the symptoms that often accompany these issues. The challenge can be in finding products that have unbiased testing, high ratio of EPA to DHA, AND require ingesting fewer capsules. This one is a winner and at a reasonable price. The 120 capsule version allows for 4 capsules daily per month (4000mg), unlike a few of the other high potency varieties which require the purchase of two bottles to cover one month (e.g. Omega Brite, and Dr. Sears); the pills have no aftertaste or burp, are easy to swallow and do not smell. Just be cautious when you purchase, that you do not accidentally choose the bottle with 360 as it is a lower concentration per pill and therefore actually requires twice as many capsules to equal the same amount offered in the 120 capsule bottle!

Certified IFOS 5 star product
This is a new variety to me. I purchased them because of the 5 star International Fish Oil Standards certification. I had been taking Healthy Choice Naturals Fish Oil Supplement but switched when they never came back with an answer when I asked if their product had been tested for purity and actual content. I have been taking fish oil products for years per my doctor's advise to help lower my cholesterol. Unfortunately they are not effective enough for me to do this alone: I also must take a pill (currently Zetia). This was proved last year when I stopped taking Zetia a few months after quitting eating meat & chicken. My Total cholesterol went up significantly. Although I still eat wild caught fish, I mainly take these for the Omega-3 EPA/DHA. Per the label, the recommended dosage is two softgels twice daily (=4). This comes to $0.70 per day at $20.98 I paid per 120 count bottle. ONE softgel provides 1000mg of Wild Fish Oil Concentrate yielding 350mg EPA and 250mg DHA. This dosage is a lot more than my previous brand which recommended one or two 1000mg (yielding 420EPA/280DHA) softgels per day. Consequently this double dose makes it more than twice as expensive. The FDA has not established any guidelines for fish oil, recommendations range all over the place. So do concentrations of EPA/DHA per 1000mg from different suppliers. For a government write up of fish oil by the NIH, including what reasons/diseases it might be good for and different dosages for each, see: <...> While these softgels are much larger than any other fish oil softgels I have taken, I haven't had any problems swallowing them. There is a distinct odor when opening the bottle, but not bad. I have not experienced any fishy taste or burping with them but then I didn't with other brands. Unfortunately, the softgels contain gelatin, which is an animal product. They also do not contain Vitamin E. Fish oil can reduce vitamin E levels and it is also believed to help preserve the product. So whether I will buy this product again is unknown. Since fish don't produce the EPA/DHA but accumulate it from what they eat, I am researching about going down the food chain to Krill Oil or ultimately algae sources.

Great quality
Doctor recommended this brand and product as preventative supplement since family history of heart and memory issues and as I head closer to 50 years old. They are a very large size so may be hard to swallow but gel cap helps. No side affects so far and hoping for good lab work in the future.

Taste isn't bad, works well to build fat in breastmilk
I got these in hopes to boost the fat in my breast milk. It worked amazingly for it, and I have no complaints on how the product works. The taste isn't fishy when burping, the pills are a little big but oh well. It has made a huge difference in my all around health. Now as for the packaging. I have no idea what happened the first bottle was perfect. But this second bottle I bought has several broken pills in it which sucks considering the cost. And I couldn't send it back because I needed them right that moment. It coated all the other ones too so I can't put it in a pill case with my other pills or they desolve them. I'm hoping it was a one off situation. Like I said 120 pills but 40 of them were broken open. But I can't give them lower then a 5 star rating in my opinion because their product actually works! Just poopie bottle lol.

PREVIOUSLY 5-stars - now a completely revised review
We have been purchasing multiple Life Extension products for quite some time. However, we are entirely discontinuing our purchase of their product on Amazon effective immediately. We recently returned this because when it came, many of the capsules were stuck together and had to be PULLED apart. What as worse was the smell - it was AWFUL! I tried to use it for a few days and could not stand the taste. The fish oil had obviously been spoiled despite a 2022 expiration date. I strongly suspect that it had been stored in a very hot warehouse or otherwise been subjected to high heat. Now we've just received a bottle of ANOTHER Life Extension product for which we were running low. Last time we ordered that one, all of the capsules were stuck together and we asked for a replacement (no problem - thank you Amazon). And now this 2nd bottle of the other Life Extension product has arrived, and it too has most of the capsules stuck together. Because the other product isn't fish oil, it's hard to tell whether it's spoiled or not, but we're done! If either Amazon or Life Extension can't do better quality control on their storage of products, we won't buy any Life Extension product through Amazon. We had a previous bottle of this Super Omega-3 product that also came somewhat stuck together, but the smell/taste were not particularly strong, so we kept it at the time. But now with four total bottles of two different products, the pattern is clear, and we're done with this brand through Amazon. Even the aftertaste as well as belched-up taste (and smell) from this product were beyond tolerable to any degree. Sad - we've been Life Extension product users for many years. One other complaint: Some of the product offerings here for THIS specific product do not specify if they are for the smaller 4-capsule servings or this larger 2-capsule servings (much larger capsules). So they aren't even providing adequate differentiating between their products even for the same actual product content. We'd have preferred the smaller 4-capsule serving size, but accepted this one - not being quite sure what we'd even get. And the pricing isn't even always an indicator. We're just DONE with Life Extension.
