Nice unit for the price but available as many brands in a wide range of pricing.
Very compact, light weight and useful as a tripod or as a monopod. I bought this to keep in my vehicle - every time you think you don't need a tripod - you need one and the best tripod for the job is the one you have! I like the ability to use the center column inverted for doing macro work. I wouldn't use this tripod with a heavy lens or in a wind storm - it just not sturdy enough. It does have a hook on the center column to hang some weight which will improve stability. After discovering that Amazon sells this unit under several different names and many different prices, I paid too much for this tripod. If you buy much from Amazon, as I do, be sure to shop this product and you will find it's for sale in a broad price range under several brand names! Also, I have learned to ignore the suggested retail prices that Amazon lists with many products - most of the time, it's a bogus price.

Took a chance and scored
I was looking for a light weight CF tripod for my spotting scope. The deal on Costco.com's Dolica Premium Traveler for $200 plus shipping appeared to fill the bill, but they were sold out on "black Friday". I found this Q-666C on Amazon for less but it was "new" and untested. There were no reviews at all. Yeah, it's made in China like a lot of CF products these days.Pros: Light, compact, easily fit 22" carry-on suit case. Does everything it claims, converts to monopod, easy handling, pretty good imitation of much more expensive ball heads. Great price.Cons: Stiff initially, may loosen up more with use, legs more vertical than typical tripod (less resistance to tipping, hang weight)It performs really well. I can loosen all the twist locks on each legs with one motion, even with my small hands. Sets up quickly and the ball head works remarkably well for its price.

Lightning fast delivery and quality tripod! Nice!
The tripod arrived 3 days after I placed my order! That in itself is very amazing! The tripod is very light but it feels sturdy and not cheap. The carrying bag has a camouflage pattern and it's of good quality. The ballhead is solid and immediately I tried it with my Canon 5D Mark ii with a battery grip attached to it and with the 70-200 mm 4.0 lens and it held the camera steadily in every position I placed it, including diagonally and sideways for portraits. The tripod folds very small with the ballhead attached but I was very pleasantly surprised when I realized I could fold it even smaller by raising the middle column all the way and swiveling the legs up 180 degrees. It basically allows the tripod plus ball head to be completely inside the carrying bag with room to spare for a flash unit or two. (without the ball head with its cute felt cover pouch sticking out).I also tried the monopod and it works well. I can't wait to try this out. Do yourself a favor and order one of these. I'm very pleased. Thank you.

Extremely portable; not recommended for windy conditions; overall, an excellent purchase.
Extremely portable. Very light weight. I've had only two issues with it. First, because it is light weight, it doesn't work well in windy conditions. It was very windy when I tried it out for the first time on the 4th of July. The wind caused so much shake that I didn't get any photos that I could use. Secondly, it takes a while to get used to turning the various leg sections. At first, I thought I had secured the legs, but found that I had missed one or more sections. I nearly tipped it over. Now that I've used it a few times, I haven't had anymore issues with that. Overall, this was an excellent purchase.

Will be my new travel tripod whereever I go
Like other reviewers, I took a chance on this tripod with minimum of reviews. However, I am happy with the purchase. The tripod is solid and fols up very small. All the knobs and locks are rubberized have have a solid feel. The ball head is large and heavy and feels well made. Liquid level built into head. Tripod very configurable. You can use one leg as a monopod, even add the center column to lengthen it. The monopod leg and ball head attaches with a 5/8" screw.Pros:- Collapses very small- Solid ball head- Converts to monopodCons:- A little heavy (3 lbs) for a travel tripod- Screw locks (I prefer wing locks)

First I would like to state that the tripod seems very well made ...
First I would like to state that the tripod seems very well made and although I have only used a couple of time the weight and function is what I was looking for.I only gave it 3 stars because I have different cameras and lenses and am looking for extra quick-release plates. I cannot find unless I order directly from China. Last time I did that the item arrived about 3 months later and I have no idea how I would have dealt with a problem. When I ordered the question was asked about buying extra/replacement plates and the answer was yes you can. I guess I should have looked into the how part first. I do mostly nature type photography and can't plan ahead as to which camera lens will work so I need a plate on each setup that I have with me. If I could find plates I would give this 5 stars.

I am very happy with the tripod
I bought this tripod three years ago from Amazon.com. I am very happy with the tripod. It's lite, compact, and easy to store when not using it.As far as this tripod is concerned, you can't beat it for the price. It is lite so it's easy to bring along on the trail. It's reasonably sturdy for the average DSLR with a consumer level 75-300mm zoom lens. Any heavier than that and you should take other means to ensure the tripod is stable or use a more sturdy (and probably heavier) tripod.I personally do not like ball heads. However this ball head seems well built and works well. I have removed the ball head that came with the tripod and have used the tripod with a variety of Manfrotto heads. By choosing heads carefully, you can still get the tripod in its carry bag.
